More days of countless missions had gone past. Naruto and I were practically siblings with how we acted. Sasuke was still jealous of my talent and Sakura....... well I think she was jealous of my chest...... We had finished with another dumb mission and now we were reporting our progress to the Hokage.
"The next mission for Kakashi's seventh squad is......" He began as he read off of a piece of paper. "An errand to the neighbouring town to babysit the chief councilor's boy...... Helping with digging potatoes......"
"Nooooooo........" Naruto whined loudly. "No! No, thank you! As for me, I want to do a more exciting mission! Give us something else!"
"You fool!" Iruka scolded, slamming his hands down on the table and jolting up. "You're still bottom rookie! At the start, everyone moves up the ladder by gaining experience from simple missions!"
"But! But! It's been nothing but blah missions so far!" Before he could carry on, Kakashi punched the top of his head causing Naruto to fall flat on his face.
"Knock it off." Kakashi instructed.
"Naruto! It's necessary to explain to you what a mission is....." The Hokage piped up. Listen to me!" As he said this out began to zone out and just state out of the window. This was boring. He create had a point though, all of these missions were so pointless. They were to help people in our village yes, but nothing beneficial to a ninja.

I zoned back in after Hiruzen shouted at Naruto to listen. He then proceeded to tell us about a C Rank Mission that he was allowing us to do. We were to be bodyguards for somebody. We turned to look at the opening door and I swear dropped as I saw an old man who looked to be a drink due to the more or less empty bottle in his hand.
"What's this? It's just a bunch of darned squirts!" He complained. He began gulping down some more of his alcohol causing his eyes to close behind the lenses of his white glasses and for some liquid to fall down past his grey goatie. "Particularly you, the smallest one with the idiot face." He said, staring straight at Naruto. "Are you really a ninja?" Naruto began laughing and trying to tease the smallest one before realising that it was himself that the old man was referring to. He tried to lunge at the man threatening to kill him, but was instead held back by Kakashi. "I'm Tazuna, veteran bridge builder. You'll be risking your life and limb in guarding me to the max, until I return to my land and complete my bridge!"

After that we made our way to the gates and with a wave to Izumo and Kotetsu who sat watching over the gates, I exited them and walked out of our village.
"All right!" Naruto grinned, fists in the air to show his excitement. "We're off!"
"What're you so excited about?" Sakura questioned irritated.
"You see, I've never left the village before! Unlike Tsukiko who came from out of the gates." He explained.
"Hey, am I really ok with this squirt?" Tazuna demanded.
"You'll be fine old man." I smirked, giving a look that said I wasn't going to take his crap.
"You may be dangerous enough to protect me, but him?" He scoffed.
"Hey, old man! Don't be mocking Ninjas so much!" Naruto twisted, pointing a finger at Tazuna as he defended the ninjas and his own name. "I'm awesome, you see! I'm a super elite ninja who will be called Hokage one day! My names Uzumaki Naruto! Remember it well!" With that said and done we set off on our journey to the Land of the Waves. Naruto really did not like Tazuna so he stayed away from during the walk down the path.

As we walked along Sakura asked questions about ninja in the Land of the Waves. Not being bothered enough to listen, I carried on walking with my hands behind my head and my eyes looking up to the sky. A weird feeling was coming off of Tazuna as if there was something he was hiding from us. Deciding to ignore it, I chose to carry on instead saying nothing.

Whilst walking, we went past a puddle in the path where two presences could be felt. Glancing over at Kakashi, he shook his head informing me not to say anything about it. Shrugging, I jumped onto Naruto's back and made him give me a piggyback ride. Suddenly, two sets of chains wrapped around Kakashi, trapping him where he stood. Everyone froze as 'Kakashi' was ripped to shreds due to the spiked chains. Fake body parts landed on the floor a few feet away causing Sakura to scream and Naruto call out Kakashi's name in alarm. Both of the ninjas appeared behind Naruto and just as I went to take action, I saw Sasuke jump up and throw kunai and shuriken down stopping the chains in their tracks and pinning them to a tree. They tried to pull at the large joined chain but it wouldn't move. He then landed on their armoured arms and kicked them both in the face. They broke off the chain and while one went towards Sakura, another ninja headed straight for Naruto. Sasuke ran to protect Sakura while I ran towards Naruto. Appearing in front of Naruto, just got there in time for Kakashi to reveal himself and grab both the ninjas in a head lock.
"Yo!" He greeted simply, like we hadn't just watched as his 'body' had been torn to shreds. "Naruto.... Sorry I didn't help you right away..... I got you hurt. I didn't think you'd be incapable of moving....." While he went to talk to Sasuke and Sakura, I turned to Naruto and ruffled his spiky hair.
"It's ok Naruto, it's your first time. Even I didn't get to you fast enough." I smiled reassuringly. It seemed that he was too focused on Sasuke to both listen or respond to me.
"Hey....." Sasuke called. "Are you hurt...... scaredy cat?" He taunted, a smirk on his lips. Naruto began to get angry but was halted by Kakashi calling his name.
"These guys have poison on their claws. You need to take the poison out quickly. You have to open the wound and drain the poisoned blood. Don't move so much. The poison will spread." He turned to Tazuna as Naruto continued to stare at his hand. Kakashi tied up the two ninja before returning to talk to Tazuna about this situation. "Chunin from the Village Hidden in the Most...... These guys are ninjas known for continuing to fight no matter what the sacrifice."
"How were you able to detect our movements?" One of the masked guys asked.
"There probably wouldn't be puddles of water on a clear day like today, when it hasn't rained for days. Idiots." I laughed with a sarcastic grin.
"Knowing that, why'd you leave it to the kids to fight?" Tazuna asked.
"If I felt like it, I could kill these guys instantly........ and from what I've seen, so could Tsukiko. But.... I had to know..... who the target of these enemies was......" Tazuna tried to fake confusion but we saw straight through it.
"In other words...... what he means is we had to know if it was you, or one of us Shinobi who was being targeted." I explained with a bored look.
"We haven't heard anything about you being targeted by Ninjas. The content of the request was supposed to just be protection from gangs, thieves, and the like......" Kakashi stared hard at Tazuna as a nervous look crossed onto the bridge builder's face.
