Ember's POV...

I layed in the large plush sheets of the bed, staring up at the grey ceiling. I tossed and turned, not being able to get to sleep, especially with my cloak on, it tangled up and made it uncomfortable to lay down. I threw the covers off myself and stood at the edge of the bed, then unclipped the button that attached the two corners around my neck loose. It fell to the floor in a black bundle of silk, I sat down on the edge of the bed and reached down, pulling of my boots off and setting them at the edge of the bed. As I reached for my shorts a knock sounded at the my door.

"Who is it?" I asked, looking over my shoulder at the door.

"It's me." I heard Ciel voice through the door.

I sighed "Come in."

He opened the door and stepped into the room. He glanced around the room before his eyes landed on me, his eyes widened a fraction as they landed on my ears, my tail still stuck in my shorts.

"You have ears." He said, his eyes still locked onto them.

"Ya I do, just like everyone else." I stood and walked over to him, standing about three feet away.

"But, they are not human. They are animal ears..." he was looking at me now, waiting for an explanation.

"They are fox ears, I have a tail too. I was born with them, my mother and father had the same. It's a family gene, can't get rid of it. It also gives me heightened hearing, smell, sight and speed." I told him.

"What about your demon. I remember Sebastain saying something about her being a misfit." Ciel asked, his blue eyes shining with curiosity.

"She is a misfit demon, part wolf part demon, since wolf blood runs through her veins she had the instinct to call me alpha, as a sign of respect and loyalty. That's one of the reasons  why most people can't make contracts with misfits, they only appear to those of whom they deem fit for their unwavering respect and loyalty. She never told me the reason why she made a contract with me though" I told him

He hummed and nodded his head. "I need you downstairs, Sebastian had been training Darcy to be a Phantomhive maid and we are going to check her progress."

I nodded and walked around the edge of the bed over to my cloak which was still laying on the floor. I threw it over my shoulders and clipped the button at the collar, I quickly slipped on my boots with ease and turned back to Ciel who was standing in the door way. His arms where crossed impatiently and he tapped his door on the ground in annoyance. Throwing my hood up over my head I walked over to him as he started to walk.

We entered the dining room and Ciel started to walk over to his large chair at the head of the table. I narrowed my eyes at him and ran ahead with ease. My feet slided to a stop and I sat my self in his chair once more. He glared at me and walked to the other large, but less extravagant chair at the other end of the table. I slumped my shoulders and leaned back in the chair, giving Ciel a lazy stare.

"So, where are they?" I asked impatiently.

Ciel opened his mouth to respond but was interrupted by the door of the kitchen opening and Darcy stepping out. She was dressed in a sleek elegant black dress with green accents, carrying a tray with food piled on top. She had perfect posture, like I knew she would, she had already mastered whatever Sebastian had taught her, she told me she used to be a maid for one of her previous masters. With perfect grace and elegance she set the tray of food in front of me and stood with her hands clasped in front of her to the side. I got up from my slouched position and picked up the silver fork that rested next to a pice of extravagant chocolate cake Darcy no doubt made herself. She knew I loved sweets, especially chocolate. I took a small bite and nodded my head.

"It's good." I told her and picked up another pice of it on my fork, then I extended the fork towards her and she took a bite. She nodded her head and I went on eating.

"What was that?" I looked up from my cake to Sebastian who stood next to Ciel with a tray in his hand and a confused look on his face.

"I see Darcy more as a friend than a servent, and I know she likes chocolate. It's only fair to share with her, even if it is just a small peice." I said, glancing over at Darcy who had happiness in her eyes.

"How strange, demons only eat souls." Sebastian said with wonder.

"Scince Darcy is part wolf she can taste human foods." I told him and he nodded his head in understanding.

"It's very strange, usually most people see their demons as servants and nothing more." Ciel said, looking at me with confusion still in his eyes.

"Darcy no regular demon." I said and ate the last bite of my cake. I stood up from my seat and looked at Darcy. "It's getting late, I'm going to head to bed. I don't know if you need more training, but I doubt you do. Goodnight." I nodded towards Ciel and Sebastian before heading up to my room.
