Ember's POV

I took my seat at the large table once more, I didn't have a chance to steal Ciel's chair because he had gotten here long before I had. Darcy entered the dining room with a silver platter, then set it down in front of me. I looked over the food and my stomach growled loudly. Without bothering to ask what it was I began to scarf it down like an animal.

Once I was done I leaned back in my chair and patted my stomach smiling. I loved food. Ciel cleared his throat from the chair I had stolen from before two seats away from me. He was looking at me with his nose tuned up and his face showing disgust.

"Where are you manners?" He asked me in an unhappy tone.

"I never needed them on the streets, it was 'eat as fast as you can to get back on the move' for me. Couldn't stay in one place for too long." I told him

"And why is that?" He asked me, still very annoyed by my behavior.

"People where always after Darcy and I, The rich hated us. We helped the poor and stole from the rich, and they wanted to kill us for it. Even though Darcy could kill one hundred men at once they would always come back. I don't like to kill many people, but I did and will. And besides it was easy to avoid them if we where always on the move, and I quite liked the thrill of being chased." I told him, glancing over at his blank face from the corner of my eye.

He nodded but I could tell he didn't understand. I sighed. I was always bad at explaining things, even though what I said made perfect sense to me, it was no wonder he could not grasp the concept.

"Anyways" I said breaking the long silence "What's on the agenda today?" I asked.

Ciel seemed to snap back into reality when I interrupted him from his thoughts. "The queen had informed me that there has been a string of crimes thought the southern part of the city" he pulled out three pictures of mangled and mauled human corpses. "Each victim was found like this"

I reached over to grab one of the pictures."Darcy, is this what I think it is?" Darcy came up behind me and glanced over my shoulder at the picture.

"Yes, it does seem like that could be it. Of course it could just look the same." She nodded.

Ciel looked at us impatiently."You know what it is?"

"I think so, about a year ago Darcy and I had been in a town about six hours on foot from here. It was small but seemed off. Everyone there had been jumpy and skittish. We stayed there for a night and the next day a noble had been killed, it looked a lot like these people here" I told him "Who are the victims?"

Ciel looked over to Sebastian who stood next to his right side and held out his hand. Sebastian reached over the the corner of the table and grabbed a small stack of papers. Why couldn't Ciel just grab them himself?

"The first one was Daniel Bosworth, a noble man, and an owner of a large and profitable shop in the center of town, with no wife or children. Then Miss Joana Parks is the daughter of Maria and Elmer Parks and was going to be married off to a noble man named William Jones only a week after her death. Last we have Jane Lawton, a noble with no husband but she had one child named Philip, she worked a large chocolate company." Ciel said, reading over the files quickly.

"So they where all nobles." I confirmed.

"Seems so." Ciel nodded his head in agreement.

"Darcy, what do you think our first move should be?" I asked her, my eyes still locked on the ceiling.

"We should go to the town where we had seen this first happen. Ask if anyone knows anything or if the man had committed any crimes or unsavory acts. After that we should go check anyone who was close to the other victims. See if we can find any pattern, like people they talked to or interacted with." Darcy said and Ciel nodded.

"Seems like the best plan of action. Sebastian go pack my necessary things and get a carriage ready. Ember, Darcy, both of you get ready as well. Sebastian will send for you when all of the preparations have been made." Ciel said.

I nodded and stood from my chair and started to walk towards the stair leading to my room.

"What a great way to start off the day, a fresh meal and a murder case! This is just great." I mumbled to myself and heard Darcy chuckle behind me. I groaned, freakin' demon hearing.
