Darcy's POV.......
I stepped into Ciel's office, Sebastian and Ember at my side, and Meyrin, Bardroy, and finny behind me.. He sat in his desk his fingers twined between each other and his chin resting on them. "Yes Ciel, what is it?" Ember asked.
"I've decided to hold a ball here tomorrow night to celebrate bonfire night and I want all of you to prepare for it." He explained.
"Yes young lord, we will handle th-" Sebastian began.
"And one more thing you will all be off duty during the ball, as long as nothing goes wrong." Ciel cut him off.
"Geez master that's awful kind of you!" Finny remarked.
I smiled. That means we will get to dance. I thought.
"And Ember.." Ciel said starting to blush a deep shade or red. "I would like you to attend the ball with me" Ciel said and then turned even more red.
Ember didn't seem surprised by it. "Of course." She replied.
Ciel smiled. "Very well, now all of you get started."
"Sure thing master!" Finny and Meyrin said in sync.
I turned away from Ciel and stepped out of the room.
Later the next night...Ember's POV...
My fingers skimmed the soft black fabric, looking at it in awe. I had never been fond of dresses, but this one was beautiful.
Dark fabric that was the color of ash made up a skirt, it three layers that sat on top of each other where ruffled into a wave pattern, it also had a small hole in the back for my tail to poke through.
The top edge of the dress was sleeveless, made up of more ruffled fabric that had a small black bow in the middle.
The top was something that resembled a corset, black fabric wrapped around, in the front was a space filled in with more grey fabric, and black lace crisscrossed it way up the opening.
Laid off to the side was a black bow that had a small ring of fabric which I assumed to be for my neck based on the size. Next to that was a headband, it had matching ruffled gray fabric on top, a black line running through it that was the base it was sown onto. Stitched to the side were two black roses, one bigger in size than the latter. Along with that were two black silk stockings and matching long gloves the went past my elbows.
This had to of been Darcy's doing, only she would know me like this. I took a quick glance at the clock on my wall to the right, seeing the ball was in only an hour. Picking up the pieces of fabric in my arms quickly I shuffled though the door branching off into my own small bathroom.
Half An Hour Later...
I stepped out of the bathroom, dressed head to toe in black and grey. I felt beautiful, something I had not felt in a long time. I walked over the my closet on the opposite side of the room, pulling open the twin doors. My hands rested in the door handles as I looked across the floor of my closet, looking for one thing in particular. I sighed and closed the doors, leaning against them in defeat. I had never been a person to own many pairs of shoes with me wearing the same pair every day, and in this moment I cursed myself for that.
I had never been this worked up over a party before, well I had never been to a party before. But in general I was never this nervous about anything, at least not this bad.
Could it be Darcy, no, I know that even if I make myself look like a fool she will still look at me the same. Sebastian? No, to be honest I could nor care what that man thinks about me. It couldn't be all the people, being around many others had never frightened me before, so why would it now?
Could it be, Ciel. That would explain it, I do get nervous around him a lot, but I don't really know why. I look at him in a way I don't normally look at others, but I can't seem to find out in my head what it is exactly. I will have to ask Darcy latter I guess.
My eyes diverted to the clock once more, seeing I only had fifteen minutes left. My eyes widened in worry and I stood up, realizing I had not yet completed two large factors in the making of getting myself to be presentable. Shoes, and hair. I gripped the skirt of my dress with my fingers and pulled it up slightly, letting my feet be able to move quickly and not having the chance of tripping on extra fabric.
I rushed around to the side of the bed where I had found my clothes laying previously, whipping my eyes around the area. My sight narrowed in on a small pair of plain black heals that rested at the bottom of my bed, neatly placed together side by side on the floor. Letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding in a leaned down, picking up the shoes and slipping them onto my feet.
Now, time for hair. I stood in my vanity mirror and debated what I was going to do with it. I could leave it down but I wanted to do something different. I snapped my fingers, then grabbed two small pieces of black silk ribbon from a drawer. My fingers parted the hair down the middle and made two separate parts of hair, bunching them together at the base, creating pig tails. I grabbed used the ribbon to tie my hair up quickly with two small bows. My ears twitched on top of my head and I smiled, stepping back to look at myself fully in the mirror. I looked amazing.
A loud knock on the door brought my gaze away from myself and to the loud noise, questioning who it was.
"Miss Ember, it's time." Meyrin's voice called from the other side of the door.
As if my mind had to confirm it for myself, my eyes read the position of the two small hands on the clock. It was time for the ball.
