Book 2 Chapter 2

Darcy's POV.......

I watched as Ember took another bite of the pie, her face seemed slightly saddened and I knew her taste buds craved a different type of food. "You should eat something too." Ember said.

This shocked me, though I no longer was hers to command I still saw her as alpha and I wasn't ready to let go. "I shall go grab you something." Sebastian said and turned away and disappeared through the door.

Ember pulled out he chair next to her. "Here." She said.

I looked hesitantly at the chair, my maid training still in mind. One of the biggest rules was don't sit at master's table. Ember smiled up at me. "I'm not your alpha anymore we are just friends now." She assured me.

"But alpha or not I am still a Phantomhive maid and that would be against policy." I replied.

"And since I am the Earl Phantomhive, I release you from the bonds of maid and grant you permission to sit." Ciel said.

Ember turned and gave him a grateful smile, and when she looked back at me he smiled himself and his cheeks turned the slightest of reds. I sat down and looked over at Ember who looked overjoyed that I had sat with her. The doors opened once more and Sebastian walked on with a plate in hand. He set it in front of me and what I saw on the plate made my memory race.

It was a single piece of pure white cheesecake with red swirls near the perfectly shaped crust. This had been the last meal I ate before I died in the snow that faithful night. As well as being my last it was also my favorite. "Cheesecake." I whispered.

"Your favorite." Sebastian said.

I looked up suddenly and met his eyes, which were filled with an emotion I had only seen in Alpha's and my wolf's eyes, love. My heart lurched at the sight of them and he quickly turned away and grabbed Ciel and Ember's plates which now only had a few crumbs on them.

He turned away and walked back through the doors and I watched him go. "Ooooo, you like him." Ember said happily.

I glanced at her and smirked."Seems I do." I replied.

Ember's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "You didn't deny it!!" She said shocked.

"What's there to deny?" I said and looked down at the piece of cheesecake that sat on my plate. I grabbed a fork and slid it into the cake, cutting off the very tip. I raised it to my mouth and when it touched my tongue I smiled, no matter how small the taste was.  I tasted the smallest of particles, reminded my mouth if the at food it ate as a human. I chewed and swallowed, looking up when I heard the door open again. Sebastian walked through.

"Ciel, lady Elizabeth is here." He announced.

"CIEL!" I heard the most annoying voice scream and saw a small girl with blonde hair run through the door and towards Ciel.

"Lizz-" He tried to say scornfully, but she tackled him and his words were cut short.

"Oh Ciel it's been so long and I've missed you so much." She said hugging him tightly.

I turned and could see Ember's eyes were full of rage. Ciel glanced at her and when he saw her look he narrowed his eyes. "Elizabeth stop." He said firmly.

Lizzie stepped back, looking very offended. "Oh Ciel I'm sorry I've just missed you so much!" She yelled and tears began to run down her face.

"Who is this girl?" I asked standing up.

"This is Ciel's fiance." Sebastian said and another girl, obviously older walked in with a ton of luggage.

"Lady Elizabeth, stop running off." She said but then free when she saw Elizabeth was crying.

"Lizzie what's wrong?" She asked.

"I made Ciel angry!" She sobbed.

Ciel narrowed his eyes more. He must have bad choice in fiance's because this girl was unbearable. "Elizabeth, you need to leave." Ciel said.

"But but, we were going to spend the night." Lizzie said pouting.

"No, our engagement is off. Now it's time you left." Ciel said sternly.

My eyes widened, and I could see Ember's anger replaced with shock. "W.....what?" Elizabeth said.

"It's for the best Lizzie, we are incredibly different and you offense upset me. And I've found someone else that suits me more" He explained.

"It's understand." She said dully and got to her feet.

"Goodbye Ciel." She whispered and turned away.

Her maid had a look of pure shock in her face. "Let's go." Lizzie said and walked out the door that Sebastian held open.

Ember was staring at Ciel and her eyes were swirling with confusion, as if she wasn't sure which to pick. Ciel looked at her and smiled slightly. "Sorry you had to see that, I had plan to cut it off months ago, but with you two showing up I haven't had the time." He said.

"It's okay." Ember said and smiled.

She looked at me and I could see her eyes had chose an emotion, happiness in its purest state.

Time skip......

The sun was set and he moon was climbing into the sky, along side thousands of stars.

I looked at one through the window and one raced past, leaving a small line of pure wite before it fa. "I wish that Ember will find her forever happiness." I whispered.
