“I’m so glad that you believe me, Elizabeth,” Dawson said.

He hugged me closer. We were both on the couch watching a movie. I wasn’t interested in it though. All movies are usually the same, they all end with a ‘happily ever after.’ I only focused on the heat that coursed through my whole body.

“Mhm...” I mumbled.

He laughed at my gesture. My mind was fuzzed by the heat that I couldn’t even utter the word “yeah.”

“Are you hungry?” He asked.

I nod my head slightly.

“I’ll go get us something.” He got up and went to the kitchen.

I shivered. I didn’t notice that it was really cold because Dawson usually kept me warm. I whimpered slightly. It was freezing! Finally, he comes in with a big bowl of popcorn. He sits next to me and offers some of it to me. I take some and say,

“I feel like you forgot to tell me something...” I say.

“Oh?” He says surprised.

I search and search through my brain. I know that there was something he didn’t tell me. After a few seconds of hard thinking, I finally figure out what it was.

“How old are you?” I ask.

He sighs.

“When your aunt isn’t here, okay?” He says and disappears.

At that exact moment, Laurie comes into my room.

“Hey Elizabeth,” she says.

“Hey aunt Laurie. You’re home early.”

“Yeah. I couldn’t stand my client today. So, I decided to take the rest of the day off,” she explained.

“Oh.” Was all I could say.

“I still have a meeting. Can’t cancel those. Only came to change and check on you. Well, got to go. Bye sweetie,” she patted my head and left.

“Have fun,” I waved when she left.

Why does she always treat me like a child? Eh, whatever. I pick up my phone and dial Dawson’s number. No one answered after many beeps. I forgot that he lost his phone. I decided to call Julia, since I had nothing better to do.

“Hello?” Julia said.

“Hey Julia. It’s Elizabeth. I was wondering if you, Rose and I could hang out for a while?” I ask.

“Sure. I’ll call you back,” she says and hangs up.

I just lay there with my iPod on full blast, thinking about Dawson, the kiss, the warmth... He said he loves me. Did he really mean it? Or did he just want me to believe that he doesn’t love her?

A few minutes later, Rose calls me.

“Hello?”

“Hey. I’m gonna go and pick you up ‘kay?”

“Okay. See ya later,” I say and hang up.

I walk to the living room and sit on a leather chair. I could still kinda feel Dawson’s heat there. When the heat was completely gone, I turned the T.V on and my iPod off. The news reporter was talking about a recent murder and that they found the body’s blood completely drained. The body was covered in blood, but it wasn’t the persons own blood. My skin started to really itch and burn from just thinking about it.

A recent murder? The person I murdered wasn’t very recent, so who could’ve drained that body? Maybe it was Dawson, or maybe it was... Violetta. Well, when I have to kill it’s usually because my skin needs to absorb it and turn it silky & smooth instead of wrinkly. I don’t think Dawson would be so stupid to leave a drained body out in the open, would he? Unless there were more of our species, new borns.
