We all sat there with a big leather-bound book. There were candles lit everywhere and herbs laid on the floor. I never liked witch craft. I thought it was too mischievous. I mean, look what it had done to me? Why would I want more of it? It was the only way though.
Ainsley swiped her hand through the flame in the middle. It turned bright silver. Then, Adelle swiped her hand through it. The flame turned pink. I guess that was the color of their souls. I swiped my hand through it and it burst up, close to the ceiling. It was black. I shrank back, but Ainsley pulled me towards it. I was, supposedly, to be engulfed in the flame. Adelle and Ainsley’s souls would cleanse mine.
I stepped forward and was covered in black fire. It slowly became silvery pink. I held back tears. The color reminded me of Haley. I hope she’s all right.
My body was warm from the fire. It felt good.
I don’t how long I was in there, but I felt my worries melt away. I no longer felt the need to chant weird incantations anymore. The presence in my head was still there, watching anxiously. She didn’t know what was going to happen, or if I knew what she knew. This is the time when I can separate myself from her.
I could feel her flee right at that moment, because if she lingered, she would be destroyed. I really wished that she would’ve stayed. It would have made my life so much easier.
“She left,” I announce.
“Finally. That means she’s destroyed,” Ainsley said.
“No. She fled. She wasn’t destroyed.”
They groaned.
“Why does my life have to be so complicated?” I asked.
“It’s because of what you are, of course,” Adelle said.
“Wow, thanks for reminding me,” I said.
“Well, what now?” Ainsley asked.
“Can I get out?” I asked.
“Sure. This is going to be a bloody mess,” Adelle said.
“Definitely,” I said.
“Well, if Elizabeth can kill her before she brings out her forces, it won’t be as bloody,” Ainsley cocked an eyebrow.
“Maybe.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Adelle smiled.
I rubbed my temples with my forefingers. Everything seemed so simple, yet it turns out to be so complicated.
They found a way to break my spell, Violetta thought. She never thought this would happen, but it did. The only thing they didn’t find out is that she could still see and control Elizabeth. There’s a downside too. If Violetta dies, Elizabeth won’t die too. Oh well. It won’t have to come to that, because she will be one step ahead of them.
Josh barges in. He looks dirty and messed up. Something must have happened. Something that will ruin her plan.
“What happened?” She asks.
“One of Elizabeth’s friends attacked me when I was retrieving the person you sent me for,” He panted.
Her face turned red. How dare them! It was Elizabeth. She knew that Violetta was going to get Kelly, but how? They weren’t connected, were they? It’s not possible. They did the spell!
“Try to get her again!” She yelled.
“From them? They’re too powerful though,” He said sheepishly.
“Haley got Elizabeth for me, and that mongrel was with three of her ‘powerful’ friends,” She said plainly.
“I will try, my love,” He bowed his head.
