(Emily)

The door flung open. I couldn’t see his picture-perfect face, until he stepped closer into the light. He dropped the two large bags of luggage, and jolted towards me in joy. He was wearing his favourite purple cap, with black skinny jeans and a white top.

His arms wrapped around me, tighter than I could ever remember, and I tingled inside.

Kenny was behind him, and so was Scooter and Pattie.

I hadn’t seen him in a week, and we were only in my uncle’s guest house temporarily. Before I could say a word to Justin, Pattie said “Thank you sweetheart, for letting us stay here for a while, its been so hard trying to get some privacy, and we really appreciate it.”

“No worries Pattie, My uncle is renting this out anyway, and he came up with the idea. It’s pretty secretive too, so you can relax a bit, hopefully” I smiled politely.

I loved Justin’s mum from the time I first met her in Australia. It was in fact the day, I met Justin too. He was at Melbourne for a concert, and I had ran into him, on his way to an interview. We were staying in the same hotel, and we kept on running into each other for a day, until he finally said “You know, you should really stop following me.”

I knew he was joking, when he winked at me, but I still argued. The conversation ended up  becoming a dinner, and the rest is history.

Once Pattie and the others disappeared, he cupped my face, and kissed me gently for a minute.

“You have no idea how much I missed you” he said, blushing a bit.

“I missed you too” I half smiled. I always missed him, and he knew how much it broke me, and how weak I became when he wasn’t around me. So we cherished every moment together.

“It’s going to be ‘Me and You’ for 2 weeks, I promise” he kissed me quickly on the nose, and then bent over to grab his bags.

“Upstairs?” he asked where to put his bags.

I nodded and followed him up the mahogany coloured stairs.

“You’re sleeping in my bed and I’ll sleep on the floor” I said, pointing to the double bed where he placed his luggage.

“I won’t let you sleep on the floor! Can’t you sleep with me?” he asked cheekily.

“I wasn’t sure if you’d want me to,” I said looking at the floor foolishly.

“Well of course I do” he said moving closer towards me, until he was an inch away.

I bent closer so I could kiss him, “Should be a good few weeks” I whispered, throwing my hands onto his shoulders.

The sun went quickly, and the moon lit up the sky too fast.

Justin and I were sitting on the couch, watching a game of ball. I was laying on him, ear against his chest, so that every time he yelled at the t.v, I could feel his voice. Justin was slowly tracing the contours of my cheekbones and I was getting sleepy. until a big bang grasped my attention.

“That was me, sorry” Pattie yelled from her room.

Justin laughed, and then he moved off the couch, leaving me lying and tangled.

“I’m hungry Em, Do you want to drive to Macca’s?” he asked grabbing his keys off the bench, already knowing my answer.

“Hows your family” he wondered, squeezing my leg.

“They’re doing fine, mum started her new job friday.”

“Oh Awesome, she like it?”

“Yeah, its pretty good” I smiled.

A bump at the drive through, made me wake up more too.

The lady through the speaker phone sounded dry, and unhappy.

After Justin ordered, he bended over and whispered “I bet you I can guess everyone’s story.”

Justin and I used to play this game the last year. We would try and create a picture to everyone on the street, and guess what their lives were like.

When he grabbed, the cheeseburger from the window, he pointed at the man crossing the road. With a mouthful of food he spluttered “A divorced, 40 year old, childless man, in search for love again.”

I looked at him, and laughed.

Then a lady with a pram came into view.

“Ooh, alright, she’s a married women, who works at a hair salon, and has just adopted her first child.”

“Lovely em” he smiled sarcastically.

And it continued the whole trip home.

It was as if nothing, at all had changed.

“What do you want to watch tonight?”

“The Notebook” I smiled eagerly. Justin and I were always caught watching the Notebook.

It was my favourite movie, and he loved it too.

“Okay, then” he winked at me, throwing the keys back on the bench.

He jumped on the couch where I now laid.

He snuggled over next to me and wrapped his arms around me, and we fitted on the couch, like a puzzle piece.

The movie started, as he started playing with my fingers, and I didn’t stay tuned to the movie, but fell asleep on his chest.
