3 days past. I was recovering. But Emily wasn’t. I visited her 4 times a day and talked to her, not knowing if she could actually hear me.

“You have to wake up soon y’know” I joked and laughed slightly, clutching her hand even closer.

I glanced around the room for any nurses or doctors. But I was alone.

I swiftly placed myself on the hospital bed next to her. I wanted to hug her, but I couldn’t risk budging a wire that could cause drama. I just laid on the bed watching her motionless body.

I traced the outline of her cheeks slowly, admiring her stunning features. I didn’t let go of her hand either. I was surprised to see the ring on her finger still intact.

“Emily. I miss you. I miss your eyes, I miss your laugh, I miss your kiss” I told her, feeling tears beginning to well up in my eyes.

“Say something Emily. Just something. Prove that you’re okay. Please. Please Emily” I begged, kissing her cheek for a few moments.

“Ahem..”

I looked up, to see a familiar man in the doorway. He looked back at me and smiled gently.

“Scooter” I mumbled, climbing out of the bed to hug him.

He wasn’t always this comforting or gentle with me. It was always, work. Nothing more, nothing less.

I hugged him, and really hugged him. I wanted to cry into his shoulder, but I couldn’t. I knew he wouldn’t understand. I needed my mum.

Scooter broke off the hug, and gripped my shoulders.

“You have to organize your show” Scooter finally said. I knew he hadn’t come here to reassure me, like I’d hoped.

“I’ve just been in a car accident Scooter. You expect me to go out and peform, especially when I don’t know Emily’s okay?” I argued, breaking off from his grip.

“I understand, but what about your fans?” Scooter tried to make himself sound better.

“My fan’s will understand. Everyone know’s about my accident, don’t they?” I drifted off, worried about my fan’s reaction to it all.

“Yes, you’re all over the news. There’s paps outside the hospital.” Scooter informed me, looking down at his shoes.

“What?! Why can’t they just lay off? Especially now. I just want to spend time with Emily” I wailed, sitting down on one of the chairs displayed near the hospital bed.

“Emily will be fine Justin.”

“She’s in a coma.”

“She’s well looked-after by the nurses here.”

“I’m not leaving her side, especially when she’s my..” I hesitated, not knowing if I should break the news yet.

“Your what?” Scooter glared at me.

“Well, Emily’s my fiancee’. I’m marrying her.” I smiled, getting a bit more brighter at the idea.

“Justin, you’re nineteen.”

“Scooter, she’s the one. I’m sure of it.”

“Don’t you want to wait until you come back from touring?”

“That’s also another reason..” I started, “I’m bringing Emily to tour with me.”

“Ha! And that’s going to happen.”
