“Stop being such a baby, it wasn’t even that scary Justin” Emily sighed.

“It was so! That guy was so creepy.” I shivered at the thought of its face. I was usually good at scary movies, I mean I liked them, but this one was different.

“Aye, Justin I’ve seen the movie, it’s not even that bad” Kenny obligated, his voice trailing out towards the kitchen.

Emily ran upstairs before I could turn to argue with Kenny.

“Where are you going?” I shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

“Toilet, want to come?” she asked sarcastically.

I laughed, and shook my head.

I jumped into the Lounge, finding Mum, Scooter and Kenny all sitting around in a circle, watching a movie.

I sat next to mum, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

“Whats up Mum?” I asked smiling, exchanging glances with everyone else.

“Nothing, but I think I’m going to go shopping soon, and Scooter’s going to visit his family. You’ll be okay?” she questioned, looking at me smiling.

“Of course I will” I said kissing her cheek, and standing up to go upstairs.

(Emily)

I looked deep into the mirror, grasping the sides of the sink.

My thoughts were intervened when Justin was suddenly on the other side of the bathroom door.

“Emily are you okay?” he asked considerately.

“I’m great” I tried to sound excited, as I opened the door.

“You sure?” he asked again, noticing I wasn’t completely fine.

“Yes” I told him, getting on my tippy toes to kiss him.

“I haven’t been to a carnival since, ages!” Justin exclaimed, throwing on a black shirt.

“I haven’t been to a carnival since we went last year” I looked at him, remembering that night.

“That was a year ago? It feels even longer ago to me” he looked down at his phone.

“Come on, we’re meeting Christian Caitlin, and Ryan at 6.”

We grabbed my hand and raced down the stairs, almost tumbling half way down them.

“Bye Everyone” Justin shouted, as he pulled me out the front door, and into his car.

“Christian!” Justin sprinted to Christian and hugged him.

“Hey buddy, how are ya?” he asked glancing over at me. “Hey Emily!”

Christian was about head shorter than Justin, and about 3 inches shorted than me.

“Hey Christian” I hugged him, and then turned around when I felt a squeeze on my shoulders.

It was Caitlin.

Justin introduced me to Caitlin last year, and ever since, we had been pretty close.

“Caitlin!” I practically jumped on her.

“How are you?” I calmed down, and notcied her hair was darker.

“Great! How about you? Whats news, I need details!”

She pulled me over away from Justin, Christian and Ryan.

Justin looked at me and smiled. I waved and then turned around, and was captive of Caitlin’s attention.

I tuned out of the conversation, thinking about Justin, and my mum.

I know mum wasn’t always like the way she was, but she began to worry me. I didn’t want to put Justin through the anxiety of thinking she hated him. Because I was sure she didn’t.

“Oi.. Em, are you even listening?!”

“What?” I had no idea of what she was talking about.

“Nick from my social science class and I, we hooked up.” she laughed, and I could tell she was thinking about him at that exact moment.

“Aw, that’s cute Caitlin.” I didn’t know who he was, but I was happy for Caitlin.

I felt suddenly, too warm hands wrap around me.

“Lets go on a ride yeah?” he asked me, as Ryan came over and greeted Caitlin and I.

“Lets go then” I replied, grasping his hand in the cold air.

I could hear Caitlin, Christian and Ryan’s footsteps behind us.

He ran off when he saw the the ticket booth for Ghost train.

“I’m not going on that Justin” Caitlin said, stopping suddenly.

“Yeah me neither” Christian muttered.

Ryan jumped beside me threw his arm around me.

“Lets rock this bitch of a ride.”

I laughed as Justin turned around with the three tickets in his hand.

“Oi hands off buddy, you know I love ya, but she’s mine” he told Ryan, as Justin took both my hands and pulled me towards the ghost carts that fitted 3 seats.

“Who’s gonna hold my hand?” Ryan giggled, running up besides Justin.

Justin and Ryan sat on the ends of the carts, squishing me in the middle. They both grabbed hold of my hand, pretending to be afraid.

“Guys, I’m so scared” Ryan said, trying to make his voice sound shaky as if he was scared.

Justin and I laughed at him, but stopped when the ride started with a jolt and Justin’s grip became more tighter.

I looked at him before the darkness surrounded us, and the last clear picture, was his perfect, angel face.

Christian immediately jumped onto Ryan as we stepped out of the carriage.

“Was it scary?” he asked curiously, trying to look past the two black entry doors at the beginning of the ride.

“No, It was shit” I replied for him.

“Oh okay, Me and Caitlin are gonna go play in the arcade, wanna come?”

I wanted to talk to Caitlin, and I could tell Justin wanted to catch up with Ryan. So I went and accompanied the Beadle’s.

“So, how’s everything with you and Justin going?” Christian asked. I had never had a full conversation with Christian, I wanted to, because he was so nice.

We were playing Pool. I was hopeless at it, but I liked playing it.

“Its good actually, how about your love life Christian, huh?” I nudged him, smiling.

He hit a ball into one of the halls, and then replied: “Inconsistant.”

“Do you like anyone?” I asked, getting deeper into conversation, whilst Caitlin had gone off to play basketball.

“Nope,” he said looking at me. “I kind of give up.”

I reckon he was the cutest kid, he was a lot like Justin, and I could see why they were both friends.

“Don’t give up, I’m sure someone’s waiting for you somewhere.” I looked at him hopefully, before hitting the ball, and missing the hole, again.

He laughed at me, and then hit his last ball in, and won the game, as usual.

“Oi, I can’t find Justin and Ryan” Caitlin was suddenly beside me.

Caitlin grabbed my hand, and Christian followed after us, and we exited the room, unusually quick.
