Mickeys POV

I said goodbye and and put the phone on my chest. I took a deep breath, in... and out... I looked around the room and sighed again. What if Rupert would kill them? What if he's here? I closed my eyes, something was wrong, and it was not my anxiety. A loud beeping noise was heard and my breathing got heavier. I heard sounds of running steps outside and I could not open my eyes. The beeping noise got louder and louder, the world was spinning like a merry go around.

My breathing was heavy and irregular, but I didn't feel bad. I felt locked in my position, I felt like I couldn't move, but I didn't panic. I kept calm and just laid there, listening to the beeping sounds and my own deep breaths. I heard the running steps coming closer and the opening of a door. Everything's was kinda muffled, but at the same time it was crystal clear.

I tried once again to open my eyes, this time I succeeded and saw shadowy, blurry creatures in front of me. My eyes were heavy and I wanted to close them again, although after all the effort of opening them I won't. It didn't really felt like I was about to die, I didn't feel like my powers were drained, I didn't feel bad. But still, something was wrong, the only thing I could do is lay and wait.

The shadowy creature came up to me and put a needle in my arm. I twitched a little but then it started pumping something into my arm. The world became less blurry and I realised a nurse had just put an IV in my arm. I looked up at her. She smiled with an exhausted look in her eyes. The beeping noise was gone, my breathing wasn't as heavy, and I could hear and see clearly.

" Don't worry Miranda, just a blood sugar drop. You haven't been eating very much, right? "

I shook my head and said I'd been too tired. The nurse waved people into my room and when I looked at them...
