i doodled a lot
you came to my desk to admire them.
you were amazed by how quickly i drew
and my way of drawing with a ballpoint pen.
"i'm daisy"
you said to me
that sweet smile of yours
broad and glowing.
for all i knew
it could've lit up the whole world.
we need light like that
in a world as cruel as ours.
"i'm alex"
i said to you
my heart
slamming against my ribs
my mouth
dry as the sahara desert.
