Maka's Pov

I stared at Arachnae.

I couldn't afford to doubt myself, I know I did just moments before, but not anymore. I was in control now, If I focused I could bring up the weapon part of me and beat Arachnae. I had to do it, for my friends. For my boyfriend. They all counted on me and I couldn't let them down, I couldn't let death city down. This couldn't be the end, I wouldn't let it.

Quick as a flash, Arachnae lunged and I willed my arm to change into a gray and black scythe. I blocked her and punched her with my regular arm. She jumped back and a monster took her place. It shot needles rapidly and I had to twist my body in eccentric ways to avoid them. Then a hand headed toward me so I dodged, jumped, spun in the air, and cut the whole monster in half, shutting it down.

Damn, I didn't know how powerful I was when I was a weapon, I guess after making Soul a death scythe my next step would to learn how to control my weapon self and find a miester of my own, then also become a death scythe. . . AWWW how cute would that be, me and Soul, married death scythe. . . not that we are going to get married, I mean that still a long ways down the road and lots of things could happen during that time, but, I would like it to happen, I mean . . .

During my daydream, Lady Arachnae charged me again with a  sword (I have no clue where she got it) and I narrowly avoided getting sliced to bits.

Focus Maka. This isn't a time to get distracted. This is crucial time and you can't afford to lose. I blocked and dodged, and blocked and blocked, and thrust and swipe and stab and slice and block and dodge, trying to out-maneuver Arachnae but she kept up with me and didn't manage to get a scrape while she kept getting little nicks into me. They stung and I felt a small trickle of blood on my arm and cheek.

I contemplated my next moves. What could I do to catch her off guard? What can I do to stay two steps ahead of her and take care of all this?

She lunged again and I evaded her. Back and forth our blades bickered and I pulled some fancy moves that sliced some of her dress and a few strands of hair.

"You're making a very bad decision Maka. You should have come with me when you had the chance. I will show no one mercy!" She had a wild look in her eyes and her hair was loose from her fighting so she looked like some psychopath exwife wanting revenge on her husband.

"Yeah, Yeah, what else is new?"

She attacked again and I blocked. My breathing started getting heavy and I was sweating. I have to find a way to end this, I've spent too much energy already and continuing to call my blades forth was tiring.

My eyes darted around the landscape surrounding us. I looked for anything that might help. There was a large stone pillar directly behind Arachnae and I couldn't but notice a large crack running through the middle. If I could just push her under it I could possibly get the thing to crumble on top of her.

I know it wasn't a great plan but it was all I had to go on. Besides, it was so simple and stupid, it just might work.

I took the offensive side of the battle and started driving Arachnae back. Inch by inch I got her closer to the pillar, but I was also getting more and more tired. Arachnae started throwing spells, that were seemingly week, which led me to believe her powers weren't great as she had to separate herself in the battle with Asura. That made me think I had I chance.

She was almost under it, almost close enough for me to make and move and make it topple on top of her. She muttered something and I went flying backward. My back colliding with something hard and I arched my back in pain. I heard a loud crack that didn't seem promising.
