Maka's Pov

I awoke to the steady drip, drip, dripping of water droplets hitting the floor.

When I first opened my eyes, everything was blurry. My cheek was pressed against something hard and cool. I could feel my hair in my face and it was probably a rats nest right now.

I have no idea where I am, and that fills me with panic. My eyes come into focus and I take a close look at my surroundings.

I'm lying on a cement floor and it's really cold down here. There's very little light, there are no windows from what I can tell and only torches spread about ten feet apart from each other, leaving mysterious dark patches here and there. There's bars on 3 walls besides me and a cement one behind me so I assume I'm in some kind of cell.

I started to push myself up to get a better look of what's around me but was instantly yanked back down.

Tight metal cuffs grip my wrists and a short chain runs from them and into the ground, giving me very minimum space to move. Well that's just fantastic. I prop myself up into a sitting position, back against the wall, and sitting Indian style. At least this is comfortable, except for the metal cuffs chafing away at my wrists.

I feel dirty and gross, like a shower could solve all my problems right now. I feel like bugs are crawling in my skin from just laying on this floor. Some hair hangs down I'm my eyes and I blow it away and try and clear my head long enough to think about all of this.

Where am I and who took me here? What's the point in it? Why make it look like I'm dead and still keep me alive? Why aren't I dead when I should be?

All these questions floated through my mind and I knew that if I gave myself enough time to think, I could figure it all out on my own.

I'm here because, well, there could be multiple reasons. As in who brought me here, well that's easy. The monsters, who probably had direct orders from Arachnae, or whoever their master is. I guess I'm not dead because they must need me for something, and that thought scares me.

What I thought was poison on that needle must've actually been a drug to make you drowsy. Perfect for sterilizing your enemy long enough to capture them and and take them hostage.

I sighed and I wish I could see more through this musty air. The unclear vision was quite infuriating.

And then Soul came to mind. Oh Soul. Did you actually say what I thought you said or was I imagining it for a sweet thing to hear before I died. Wouldn't have been the worst thing to die to. But if it was something he really said.... Oh Soul. I'm so sorry! Right now you think I'm dead and I couldn't say it back. How. Why couldn't I have uttered those last few words.

I wish there were some way to contact him right now, let him know I'm ok. It wouldn't matter if I ever got out of here but I just need to let him know that I'm ok and I love him too.

I sighed in defeat and let my head hit the wall. This sucks. Everything about this situation sucks, in all aspects. I sighed again and closed my eyes. I want to find out more, so I guess I'll have to wait till someone arrives to speak with me.

Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long.

The corridor echoed with footsteps and soon more light and shadows bobbed across the walls. Two tall figures loomed in front of the bars and then one small one in the middle of them. The the little one was still obscured by shadow.

Keys jangled and a click echoed through the chamber, symbolizing that they were opening the cell. The door swung open with a creak, and a loud clang sounded when it hit the other side.

The short one stepped forward and into a patch of light. It was a child, no older than seven, with gray spiderwebbed eyes and black hair pinned up into a bun. So to put it in simpler words, She was the spitting image of Arachnae, only younger and smaller.

"Hello, child, glad to see you're finally awake." She said.

"I find it ironic how you call me child when you are the one who looks no older than seven." I retort.

"Ah yes, but this is merely my soul, trapped in a child's body. My soul has lived the years, but this body has not."

I blew a piece of hair from my face. "why are you here?" I asked.

"You see child, I used the same technique as my dear sister, Medusa, which isn't easy mind you. I-"

"I didn't ask you how you got here, I asked you why. I found out the how on my own."

"Snippy one isn't she? Well, I'm here because I never got to finish what was started in the first place. That stupid Keshin dared to kill me then didn't accomplish inciting all the fear and crazy to destroy the world, and especially death city. I'm here to get revenge, and with my indestructible monsters it is possible. . . Well almost indestructible. You see, I still need a few more ingredients and parts to complete them, and that's where you come in my dear."

"Me? how do I have anything to do with this?"

"I'm going to get as much information out of you as I can. Where secret tunnels to the city are, what you know about other people and when are the best times to sneak in the city. I will get the information out of you one way or another. I'm also going to use you for your blood. I can input your weapons blood into the monsters soul and they can be more powerful than ever!!! Then I can capture as many weapons souls as I can and use them, especially those little friends of yours who got away." she said those last words angrily. Apparently her monsters didn't do as she asked. At least now I know that they are safe. But they might not be for long.

She is going to go infiltrate death city. She keeps making the monsters stronger and at this rate she won't take long to destroy us. I just need to keep my mouth shut. I can't give her any information she could use. But what is she going to do to me? She could do so many horrible things, but it doesn't matter. Staying quite is my job now. Its the least I can do now that I'm stuck here.

"Now," she said stepping forward and taking my chin. "are we going to do this hard way or the easy. Please say easy cause that would save me the trouble."

Barely even thinking about it I lashed out and kicked her. She went flying across the cell and slammed into the bars.

She got up and wiped some blood from her mouth.

"Hard way it is then. Knock her out." the guards lifted up strange looking guns and pulled the trigger. Gas like stuff came out and filled my lungs.

I passed out not long after.
