Maka's Pov

I woke up when Soul was carrying me through the door. It wasn't his walking that woke me, it was him hitting my head on the door frame.

"Oy Soul! Could you be a little more careful!" I muttered. On top of everything I now had a headache.

"Sorry" Soul murmured. He sounds like he usually does in the morning, I wonder if he took a nap too.

He walked over to the couch.

"This might hurt a little," Soul said.

He lowered me to the couch as gently as he could. Every movement caused me to clench my jaw in pain and when he let go I gasped.

Soul looked at me worriedly.

"I'm ok, it's ok" I say closing my eyes. "damn whatever that thing did to me really messed me up huh?" I chuckled trying to lighten the mood a little.

Soul smiled and shook his head a little "damn Maka your the only person I know who can have a sense of humor at a time like this. Now rest, let me take care of you, no school tomorrow and I'm going to call stein and see when he can come look at you."

I gave Soul a pouty face. " but soul!" I whined " school!? And it's my turn to cook tonight."

"That's too bad" Soul said smirking at me. "you get to do nothing while I do everything so tough shit."

"You are so lucky I hurt to move right now or I would totally Maka chop you."

"Well then lucky for me. I'll be right back" he walked away with a smirk still plastered on his face.

Ooh he irritated me sometimes but I also thought it was kinda adorable how concerned he is and how he wants to take care of me.

He came back with a blanket and washcloth. He took the blanket and draped it over me tucking it under my chin. He then took one of the couch pillows, fluffed it, and put it under my head. He folded the washcloth and put it on my forehead. The cool wetness did wonders for my aching headache.

He turned on the tv.

"What do you want to watch?" he asked.

"You know you don't have to do this."

"Ya I kinda do seeing as your completely useless right now. Now what do you want to watch?"

"I don't care." I reply nonchalantly. This was so unlike Soul. And in a strange way... I liked it.

"Cheesy old-school zombie movie it is." he says.

I laughed, typical soul.

"He patted my head lightly. Very, very, lightly.

"It's what cool guys do." He smiled down at me and I returned the gesture. "I'm going to make dinner" he walked away.

"Please try not to burn it this time!" I shouted after him.

I heard him laugh.

I smiled and turned my attention to the movie.

Ugh this is sooo bad. You can tell the blood and brains are fake, the throw up looks just like oatmeal, and the special effects sucked. But I guess they did good for their time.

I felt so disoriented. I really wish I could move so I could check what time it is... and grab a book.

Soul came back in and came into my line of view in front of the couch.

I burst out laughing.

He was wearing my 'kiss the cook' apron my mom had gotten me from Italy.
