I decided to brush off the weird feeling I had, and had decided instead to get ready. I quickly took a shower and had gotten dressed when a deja vu feeling had taken over me. I paused whilst brushing my teeth, taking a moment to stare myself in the eyes. The bathroom was silent. The only noises were of water droplets dripping from my hair and my own breathing. Jake what's gotten into you? It's almost as if you've been here before. But that's not possible. . Right? A sense of doubt went through me, as I finally chose to laugh it off. I chuckled to myself as I broke the gaze with myself in the mirror.

"Don't do this to yourself Jake."

Thirty minutes later, I was sitting in the kitchen as Dirk happily hummed to himself as he cracked some eggs and spilled them into the skillet. I politely asked him not to cook for me and had said he didn't have to. But of course he insisted. I sat in silence and mulled over the weird feeling that stayed in the shadows in the back of my mind.

"Something wrong English?" Dirk stated, and I could feel his eyes on me. I looked him in the eye.

"No. At least I don't think so. I just have a lot on my mind." I said, sketching on my favorite notebook filled with endless poems and songs. It had taken me so long to get it how I wanted it. Now it was running out of pages. I frowned. I didn't exactly want to be in a bad mood. Then why was I mulling over things too deeply? Did I somehow find the feeling important?

"Are you going to give me specifics or is it something more . . spiritual." He said, focusing on the food he was carefully cooking. He turned the eggs, adding some spices to it. I had to take a moment when I heard the question.

"I'm not sure honestly. I just keep getting weird feelings of deja vu around you lately. It feels as if I've known you a very long time. A lifetime even." I said, scrunching my brows. He suddenly dropped the spice he was about to add. It made a loud clinging noise as it hit the floor.

"Shit. Sorry." Dirk said, hurriedly cleaning his mess. I chuckled a bit.

"It's fine mate. I should stop thinking so hard heh." I said, pretending to play off what had just happened. I've never seen Dirk lose his graceful exterior. I smiled.

"Here you go. I hope you like it." Dirk said, placing a dish of delicious looking food in font of me. I beamed, thanking him and taking a bite of the golden crisped eggs.

"These are amazing. I never would have taken you for a cook." I said as I astoundedly continued eating. He chuckled, eating some off his own plate.

"I'll take that as a compliment." he said, trying to hide the smile on his face.

"It's because it is." I said simply, and Dirk choked a bit on his food. This surprised me but I chuckled and I swear I could've seen his face turn red.
