A few hours had passed and the final bell rung and a smile spread across my face. Finally. I grabbed my stuff and slung my messenger bag across my shoulder. I let my headphones blare with music as I exited through the entrance doors, fresh air hitting my face. I was an outdoors person, never really cared much for indoor things. I loved adventure, it always had me wondering what would happen next. I glanced around, seeing no one paying attention to me and I sang along with the song. I had been listening to an acoustic cover of If I'm James Dean then You're Audrey Hepburn by Sleeping With Sirens.
"Stay for tonight if you want to, I can show you. What you're dreams are made of as I'm dreaming of your face. I've been away for a long time. Such a long time and I miss you there. I can't imagine being anywhere else. I can't imagine being anywhere else but here." I stopped suddenly as I saw people surrounding me. I blushed intensely. Where do these people come from, cripes man! I took my headphones out and raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Did any of you need anything?" I asked kindly, letting a small tipped smile on my face. A girl with aquamarine blue eyes and short curly hair giggled. I blinked. I don't believe I've seen her around before.
"Wow Jake, you're an amazing singer. You should join choir!" She said with a kind smile. I smiled back. Choir?
"Why thank you! That is very kind of you to say." I replied and she blushed a tad. I studied her features and she looked at me. I gulped a bit. Her eyes.
"I didn't quite catch your name. Miss?" I asked, tilting my head a bit.
"Its Jane Crocker." She said and I nodded. Jane.
"Well I do apologize but I must be on my way. That goes to everyone else. It makes me feel bad to leave you all here like this." I said, suggesting the small group surrounding me besides Jane. A few girls giggled. Just then I felt someone grab and pull my wrist the other direction. My heart skipped as I turned to see who it could possibly be. Dirk. Its Dirk. A blush ran across my face as he pulled me along, following him.
"Come on Jake. You're prince has arrived. Irony and all. I would suggest not to let your 'groupies' bother you too badly." Dirk said, glancing at me. I nodded slowly. Groupies? What's he mean by that?
"Thanks Strider for helping me back there. I was really in a stitch there, eh?" I said, chuckling a bit.
"No problem my fair maiden. You're prince always knows when to make his entrance. Especially when his damsel is in distress." He said, a smile across his face. This made me laugh and he finally came to a stop, releasing my arm. My heart skipped a beat as I noticed the sudden change.
"It seems you're always helping me Strider. I seriously can't thank you enough." This made him chuckle and he turned his head to mine. I felt his gaze across my face and my heart started to race.
"What are friends for English?" He stated with a smile and I grinned. I had made my first friend.
