I slept like a log after lunch and woke up again only to find someone staring out of my room's window. His back was facing me and he seemed to be so deep in thought that I can't really say if he saw me waking up.
"Excuse me!",I said.
I could say he was freaked out by my presence. He jerked a bit on hearing my voice and finally turned to face me.He was tall and thin with big eyes.I can't really say its color cause the room was so dark and so were the roads.I could hardly make out anything from outside.I wonder what he was staring at.
"You were here all this time?",he asked.
"Why!yes,you didn't know?"
"No,I didn't.I'm sorry I came in without your permission. Its just that this room has always been unoccupied and this has been my favorite spot ever since I came here.I didn't really expect anyone to be here, you know.",he explained.
"That's ok",I said,feeling a little like an intruder.
I got up from the bed and folded the blankets.By then,he turned on the lights and I could see him properly. He had big brown eyes. They were so adorable in his small face and it made him look so innocent. He had a calm and loving face and I could see so much of sincerity in his eyes.
"I'm sorry again.",he said and left.
I looked around the room and found the wall clock. Its eight thirty and I've been snoring in this new place with no manners.I wonder what nani would think of me.
Tying my hair,I rushed downstairs.I found Meghna eating in the dining table as nani served her the most wonderful smelling dal.
"Woke up,eh!I was thinking of calling you down for dinner.",nani said.
"I'm sorry. Its the long drive that made me so tired.I promise I won't sleep endlessly from now on."
Both of them burst out laughing.
"We woke up only now.I had to sprinkle water on nani's face to wake her up.",Meghna said, with her mouth as big as a balloon.
I sat down and let nani serve some rotis and dal for me.
"Delicious smelling.".
I meddled with small pieces of roti and tried eating as much as I could.I have never been much of an eater and ever since this nauseous feeling came up,its become even worse.
"What are you eating, child?",nani half shouted and tore a huge piece of roti from my plate, dipped dal and fed me even before I could finish my half chewed roti that I had in my mouth.
Meghna burst out laughing.
"You haven't changed a bit, nani.",she said between fits of laughter.
I could say that she is pretty close with her grandmother. They share such a wonderful bond and its so nice to see them like this. Its hard to say that she is her grandmother or Meghna is her grand-daughter apart from their looks. Its hard to see such relationship these days.
"That's exactly how she used to feed me.It always takes me awhile to adapt to some decent eating habits everytime I leave from here."
We all laughed. We then ate in silence.I served nani and helped her clear the table.I offered to do the dishes but she told that the maid would take care of that.I bid her good night as she told she was gonna sleep and then thought I'd take a leisure walk in the garden.I really can't think of sleeping after slumbering for so long.
Just as I walked past the hall to the garden,I found Meghna watching television, sitting on the sofa, comfortably.I walked back to her to clarify a doubt that I've been holding in for a long time.
