Chapter 4

Abby's POV
Tonight I am going on a date with Grayson.
It's 5:20 and I'm pacing around my room because I'm so nervous.
"Abby calm down it's going to be fine" Payton said walking into my room
"I know but I'm still nervous" I said
"Look just call me if you need anything okay.... Grayson's here by the way" she said and walked downstairs
I took one last look at my outfit in the mirror to make sure it looked perfect. (picture above)
It's November so it's already cold out.
"Hey you look amazing" Grayson said when I entered the kitchen.
"Thank you" I said
"You ready to go?" He asked grabbing his keys.
"Hell yeah" I said and headed to the car.
*skip car ride*
"So tell me more about you i still feel like in know nothing about you" Grayson said when we sat down.
"Well we just moved here from Chicago, I'm 16" what else do you want to know
"I don't know tell me about yourself, like why do you shut people out?" He asked.
"I don't know I guess it's just who I am" I said looking at the ground.
"I don't believe that"
"I don't know it's just kinda between me and my sister" I said still looking at the ground.
"It's okay you don't have to tell me if you don't want to" he said moving closer to me in the booth.
I was so nervous. I wasn't myself.
"What's the matter?" He asked. He was so close to me that our shoulders we touching.
"It's nothing. I will be right back I'm going to use the bathroom" I said and ran to the bathroom. I pulled out my phone and called Payton.
"Hello" she said into the phone
"Payton I'm so nervous what do I do?" I asked pacing around the bathroom.
"Abby calm down its okay what's going on so far?" She asked
"No much but he's sitting so close to me our shoulders are touching and he asked why I don't let boys into my life what do I do" I said still pacing back and fourth
"Okay he's sitting close to you because he likes you. He wants to make a move, and you can tell him why you shut guys out if you want I really don't care if you tell him" she said calmly.
"Okay what do I do if he makes a move?" I asked
"Well if you feel uncomfortable just tell him but he will probably try to kiss you" she said
"Oh Abby talk to him about sports" I heard a guy say in the background
"Who was that"
"Ethan" she said.
"Oh okay. Well I've got to get back out there bye" I said and hung up. I walked back out and saw him looking at me.
"Hey you okay?" He asked when I sat back down
"Yeah I'm fine" I lied.
"Are you nervous?" He asked
"How did you know?" I said looking up at him
"Ethan text me and told me that you call Payton because you are nervous"
"Yeah kinda. It's my first date"
"It's okay I was like that too on my first date" he said and put his arm around me.
"Really?" I said and laughed
"Yes I was" he said seriously
"I don't believe it"
"It's true. In fact I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous right now" he said with a smile
"what are you nervous about?"
"Well I'm nervous because I'm on a date with the most beautiful girl in the world and I don't want to mess up" he said looking at me.
"I'm not that pretty" I said looking at the ground
"Abby you are the beautifulest girl I have ever met" he said and put his hand on my thigh.
"Thanks I guess" I said and laughed
"I really like you but if your not ready to date than I will wait until your ready" he said and kissed my cheek
"Yeah I'm sorry I'm not ready to date"
"And I'm fine with that I will wait as long as you need"
Payton was right not every guy is like Jake. Grayson was the kind of guy that I want to be with.
