Chapter 24

We arrived at the hospital 20 minutes later with the boy.

"Um hi his parents were in a car accident about an hour ago and we were told to bring him here" Grayson said to the lady at the front desk.

"What's the last name?"

Grayson's looked down at the boy since we didn't exactly know his name or last name.

The boy motioned for him to lean down.

Grayson kneeled down so he was level with the boy.

The boy whispered in his ear and Grayson quickly nodded before standing up.

"Last name is smith" said to the lady

She when back to her computer and started typing away.

A few seconds later her eyes widened and I just knew what she was about to say.

"Hey gray go take him to the waiting room I'll be right there"

He nodded and walked away with the boy.

I looked back at the woman to find out what I think she will say.

"Both parents are dead"

My heart shattered in a thousand pieces

"Are you positive you are talking about the right people?" I asked hoping she was wrong.

She nodded her head yes.

A single tear fell down my cheek and I quickly walked out of the hospital to get some fresh air before telling Grayson and the little boy.

I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around mine and I just knew it was Grayson.

"Shhh babe it's okay you tried your best to save them, but it just remember everything happens for a reason" he kissed my cheek and pulled me close to his body.

And that's when I completely lost control over my tears.

"G-gray I could have s-saved them, it's all my fault" tears were streaming down my face.

Grayson spun me around and I hugged him tight.

"Babe it's not your fault at all so don't blame yourself. I thought you were amazing" he rubbed my back.

*sniffle* "you did" I looked up at him and gave him a weak smile.

"Of course. You were absolutely amazing" he wiped away my tears with his thumb and lightly pressed his lips to mine.

I pulled away and smiled through the tears.

"Come on let's go get something to eat" he wrapped his arm around my waist and started walking towards the car.

"What about the boy" I stopped in my tracks

"His grandma is here, she said we were free to go" he turned around and faced me.

*takes deep breath* "okay"

I walked over to him and interlocked our hands....

2 hours later

"Thanks for coming to visit me" I said as he walked me to my dorm.

"No problem princess. I'll see you soon right?"

"definitely" I hugged him tight.

"Oh I almost forgot" he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small box.

"For you" he handed it to me

"Aw gray" I took the box from his hand and opened it.

"You like it?"

I looked up at him with a huge smile on my face "I love it" I hugged him tight.

"Here let me put it on for you"

He grabbed the necklace from my hand and unfastened the clip.

I turned around and he brushed the hair off my neck 

Once he necklace was on he kissed my neck.

"God you're so beautiful abs" he whispered in my ear.

I turned around to face him.

"I know" I joked

He leaned down and pressed a kiss to my lips.

I could get use to this

The kiss lasted for what seemed like  forever. And we finally pulled apart when the door opened

"Well looks like is should get going" Grayson said.

"Do you have to go?" I wined

"Yes unfortunately I have a test tomorrow and me and Ethan need to study but I promise I will call you as soon as I get back okay" he grabbed both of my hands

I nodded my head

"Bye babe" he gave me one quick peck on the lips before disappearing
