After weekend comes a new week, although this was the last week before the three week hiatus of " Good Mythical Morning ". Rhett and Link would take a small vacation from GMM to work on making their network and antivirus-system even safer, to resist A224. During the course of the last week, nearly 1 billion units and 1 000 000 humans had been infected. No recorded human deaths had accured. But something very mysterious had begin to happen. Rhett and Link quickly noticed that the stats for their videos were getting worse. They didn't have as many views, new subscribers and likes. Subscribers started leaving them and disliked their videos. Everything happened in a similar pase in which A224 got worse and infected more and more people. Link sat at his computer checking the sats over and over again, not understanding why this was happening. He called for Rhett.
" Rhett. Something's wrong, look. " Link said and pointed at his screen.
" I know what you're saying. Tell me some news pal. "
" Have you ever thought of why this is happening? " Link worriedly asked.
Rhett thought about it for second and scratched his head.
" No, not really. "
" It correlates with how the plague is getting worse, I mean look at it. "
Link showed Rhett stats for how the mythical beasts were leaving them and how the plague infected people all over the world. In countries where the plague were at it's worst they had basically no fans what so ever.
" This can't just be coincidence. " Link sighed.
" What are we going to do about it? We're using old technology, and it's the only thing keeping us safe from getting infected. "
Link sighed. It felt like he was just waiting for the whole world to be infected and human civilization would be gone and controlled by this computer programmed virus. He'd always thought that if a plague spread this quickly from human to human, large parts of the population would be gone by now. But still, no recorded deaths due to the virus had been recorded or stored in databases. Rhett turned on the news, which at this time were sourly devoted to update people on how the plague was spreading and if any new symptoms were discovered, people did everything they could not to be infected. Robots and computers protecting large cities from other types of micro-robots or organisms were shut of, personal robots, other devices or different types of helping aids weren't used as much anymore and people became paranoid. Large parts of northern and middle Europe had shut off all outside world access and export, in order to keep the virus from spreading, since it was so uncontrollable.
From being two of largest channels on YouTube, with over 25 000 000 subscribers combined "Rhett and Link" and " Good Mythical Morning " now had less than 1 000 000 each. This had happened over the course of 10 days.
Another week went by and now over 100 000 000 people were infected by A224. Many websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google and Wikipedia were long gone due to crashing and other malfunctions. The internet was infected and the virus spread quicker than ever, infecting millions of people every day. Strangely, still no one had died due to the virus, and devices had stopped exploding and were now just a portal for the virus to go from device to user and infect the world. Only one of biggest websites from the "old" world, before the plague was still online, YouTube. Although many of the big YouTubers had dissipated. In this were for example, PewDiePie, Smosh, Markiplier, TheFineBrothers and Rosanna Pansino, meaning many of the biggest shows and series in the world were gone to. And for those who still were online on YouTube, their subscriber count dropped, their dislikes went sky high and most of them were at one point or another infected. But still, for Rhett and Link's secret network were intact.
