They walked through the empty streets, finding the occasional trash can of fire or other container type thing. Link was once again sweating, his hair was stuck to his forehead and the back of his shirt was damp. Rhett worriedly looked at his friend and put his hand up, Link walked right into it. Link slowly looked up at Rhett from underneath his hair.
" Dude, you okay? You don't look okay. " Rhett said.
" I'm fine, I'm just hot. I'm okay. " Link said and stepped out of Rhett grips and continued walking. " I won't stop, are you just gonna stand there? "
Rhett stood and looked at his friend as he walked down the street. Link's steps were out of balance and he looked drunk. Rhett looked at the hand he had on Link's shoulder, he touched it with his other hand. The skin was burning hot, but it didn't feel that warm on the inside of his hand. Although the skin was getting red and very warm. Rhett quickly put his hand in his pocket at caught up with Link.
" Looks like you decided to come a long. Clever. " Link sarcastically said.
Rhett nodded and felt how his hand started hurting, it got warmer and warmer to the point where he could feel it through his pocket. Link looked confusedly at him.
" Something wrong Rhett? " He asked.
Rhett sighed and took his red, swollen hand out of his pocket. Rhett had indeed contracted some kind of disease through his hand, something was wrong. Now they were both sick and weak. But at this point Link knew they couldn't stop.
Rhett looked at his own hand and then back up at Link, he felt his field of view narrow in on Link's face and slowly get further and further away. Before he knew it, he passed out. Link was quick enough to catch Rhett right before he hit the ground. After trying to waking him up without any sign of doing so, Link decided to take matter into his own hands. He put Rhett's long arms around his own neck and locked them in place by holding Rhett's hands together with his own hand.
With Rhett sloped up on his back, dragging his feet behind him, Link kept walking. Although they both had contracted some sort of disease, he knew they couldn't stop and quit at this point. His chest felt even tighter now when I was basically walking for two people, and a pain started spreading through Link's back. It went down his spine and towards his hips, but he didn't care. It could hurt all it wanted, he would just keep going.
