Chapter 37: Mia

"Minnie Mouse." A voice calls and I pull my covers over my head.

Last night was fun, until CC walked in and possibly destroyed my relationship with Rikki and I found out I was knocked up. All of this scared the absolute shit out of me, I don't know the first thing about being a mother. I don't even know if I'm still dating the baby's father. Maybe I should just move back to Brooklyn. If this doesn't work out, I'm definitely. I couldn't face Rikki after all of this.

"Minnie, come on baby. Are you still mad at me." The voice registers in my head as CC's.

"Hell yeah I am." I mumble into my pillow.

I've gotta rack my brain. When didn't we use a condom? I mean other than last night but I must've been pregnant before that, right?

Crucified Christ.

"Minnie come on, get up. I wanna talk to you." CC says and I scowl into my pillow.

"I don't want to talk to you right now." I state and he sighs.

"Wait! I've gotta idea! Hang tight!" My door slams and he runs down the hall.

"I wasn't planning on going anywhere." I state.

I open one eye to look at the time, it's eleven thirty. I stretch out my right hand, I had gotten the cast off yesterday. It heeled quicker than it did the last few times. I burry my face in my pillow and drift off to sleep again.

I dreamt that Rikki was beside me, in bed under the covers. We weren't having sex or anything, we were just laying there. Rikki held me close and kissed my nose. His hand runs over my enlarged stomach and he rubs it gently.
"I love you baby. And I love this baby." He said quietly and I smiled.
"I love you to, my love." I said before reaching up to kiss his lips.

"Minnie Mouse! Wake back up!" CC nearly yells. His voice prying my eyes open.

I roll over to look at him and he smiles.

"I got you something." CC says proudly. "I promise it's worth getting up for."

CC holds up a huge bag of sour keys and I laugh. My favourite candy.

"But wait, there's more." He says as opens my door.

CC drags Rikki into the room and places him at the side of my bed.

"I tried to get the Yankees but it was too short notice." CC explains and I smile. "I'm sure this is the next best thing."

Rikki smiles and me and I smile back at him. CC smiles kinda awkwardly.

"I'm going to leave now." He states before walking out.

"Move over." Rikki tells me and I slide over.

He lays down beside me and instantly kisses my lips. We don't pull away for a long while. When we do, Rikki is the first to talk.

"I love you, Mia. No act of God or CC Deville will change that." He tells me and I smile.

I can't help but think, what about an act of you. I mean he did get me knocked up after all.

"I love you so much." I tell him and he kisses me again.

Nothing is wrong in this moment.
