Chapter 55: Mia

The Irish are mean when they're mad. Mia is kinda mean to start with but put her mother and grandmother yelling at her....Christ of the Living.

I have absolutely no idea what they're saying but whatever it is, they're screaming it. CC and Vicy are screaming at each other and Isaac is screaming at Mia to. Mia holds her hands up in front of her and up to her family.

"Shut up for a minute!"  Her Irish accent stick a bit. She turns to Vicy and CC. "Victoria you need to talk to him."

"Why should I Mi!" Vic snaps back.

"Because!" Mia points back to Isaac. "She's fucking married! She doesn't want in CC's pants. My cousins has higher standards than an ugly broad."

"Thanks Mouse." CC grumbles.

Mia goes back to arguing with her family. That lasts a while. Eventually, I'm guessing at least, that her Grandmother and cousins accept it. They both awkwardly hug me and leave. Her mom and Mia continue to scream at each other. If I knew what they were arguing about I'd try to get Mia to cool down but I'm so fucking lost.

"I wish I didn't come back!" Mia slips back into English.

"I wish I never had you!" Her mom yells back.

"I hate you!" Mia yells.

"I hate you to!" Mom yells back.

Mia grabs my hand and starts to pull me out of the kitchen. This girl weighs a hundred pounds--pardon me 102 pounds, she was quite proud that she finally broke 100-- never judge her by her size. Mia is dragging me like I weigh nothing. I mean it might be anger, or stubbornness, or maybe being pregnant gives you super human powers, I don't know. But she pulls me into the bedroom and slams the door. Mia looks up at me and her grey eyes are lined with tears. Her hands cover her eyes, I hug her and kiss the top of her head.

"I want to leave, Rikki." She says quietly. "This is why I didn't want to come in the first place."

"We'll go home, I promise. Just don't be sad anymore." I say and she looks up at me.

"I'm not sad." Mia promises while wiping her face.

"Such a bad liar, baby." I kiss her forehead. "I love you."

"I love you more." She tells me and wraps her arms around my tightly. "More than you'll ever realize."
