When Takumi woke up, it was almost dinner time and he heard someone in the kitchen cooking. What he smelled was... Ramen? And it smelled really good. 'Is that... Pork Ramen? Or is it beef?' Takumi couldn't decided. Finally, he shrugged off his sleepiness and went to find out who was cooking. The shrugging off of the sleepiness didn't work very well, but he did figure out who was cooking.
"N-Naruto?" Takumi asked, stunned and confused, still trying to wake up. "What are you doing?"
Naruto turned and looked at the half awake Takumi. He didn't know what color his hair or eyes were, but he could easily remember Takumi's facial features. His slightly slanted eyes with a bored look in them, his average looking nose, and his mouth set in a simi-bored frown were a combination that wasn't forgotten so quickly.
"Oh, hey Takumi! You hungry? I'm making some pork Ramen and accidentally made extra," Naruto replied, smiling.
Takumi silently nodded and went to the table while Naruto dished two bowls and brought them over to the table before quickly dashing back to the stove to turn off the burner and move the pot off the heat. Once the two were sitting down and they started eating, Takumi's tiredness melted away and he remembered were he was and why he was there. 'That's right. It's Naruto's house, of course he'd be here. But wait. Cooking? Just how good IS his eyesight now?'
"So, do you like it?" Naruto asked after finishing his own bowl fairly quickly. (A/N Oh, who am I kidding, this is NARUTO I'm talking about! There's nothing "fairly" about it! It's either so quick your mouth is left hanging open, or hardly any speed at all!)
Takumi was brought out of his thoughts by Naruto's question. He looked down at his half empty bowl and realised he hadn't taken any thought as to how it tasted. He was just simply... Eating. Taking another bite before answering, Takumi's eyes widened. Once he'd finished what was in his mouth, he looked up at Naruto in shock. "H-How? How is this Ramen so... Good? Is there some kind of trick?" asked the young Takahashi.
Naruto's mouth spread into a humongous smile. "There's no trick to it. I simply learned from a Master."
"There's a Ramen Master? Where?" Takumi asked as his eyes bugged out.
Naruto laughed slightly at Takumi's reaction. "Well, I guess the closest one is the owner of Ichiraku Ramen right here in the Leaf Village. His Ramen is probably my overall favorite, second to none, although home cooked Ramen can also be good. Just not AS good."
"Really?! There's a Ramen Master so close?!" exclaimed Takumi, excited.
"You should go sometime. Tell him that Naruto Uzumaki sent you, and you might get a slight discount."
"I will! I definitely will!" Takumi said enthusiastically. If this Ichiraku guy made a better Ramen than Naruto, he must truly be a Master Ramen maker.
They sat in silence as Takumi finished his Ramen. When he was done, he thanked Naruto for the meal.
"No, I should be thanking you," smiled Naruto.
Takumi's face contorted in confusion. "Why thank me?" he asked.
"For sharing my pre-birthday dinner with me. Usually, Sasuke would do so, but he's obviously really tired. So thank you."
"Wait, tomorrow's your birthday?"
"Yep, I'm turning 13 tomorrow! Although, this'll be my first birthday that I have to stay inside, since I'm supposed to be blind for the rest of my life and all that," Naruto explained.
"Really. Well, do you two have any plans for tomorrow then?"
"We might go to the training ground again. There had better be some Ramen left for me," stated Sasuke, walking into the room.
