"Naruto, aren't you supposed to be blind?"
'Kit, ask him if he knows about me. Don't tell him if he doesn't know about me,' Kurama told Naruto.
'It's about time you started talking. It's my first birthday knowing about you and this is the first you've spoken up!'
'I'm sorry, but we've got other pressing matters to deal with.'
'Right, right. Don't worry, I got this.' "Kakashi, before I can answer your question, I need to ask you one," Naruto said calmly.
"Go ahead. I've got nothing to hide."
Naruto smiled. "Do you know what happened to the Nine Tailed Fox this night 13 years ago?"
The eyes of everyone in the clearing widened slightly at the question, though some thought it was just a trick question. (A/N *cough*Sasuke and Takumi*cough*)
"Do... You?"
"That's for me to know and you to find out. Now answer my question if you want your answer."
"Lord Forth killed it."
"The truth, not that cover story."
Kakashi raised his eyebrow. "The Forth was fighting the Fox, but he couldn't defeat it, so he sealed it inside a new born baby, giving his life to save the village. Happy?"
"Yes, very." Naruto said, as he went on to explain what he'd told Takumi the day before. He even took off his blindfold and showed them his eyes. The expressions made by the ANBU were priceless, to say the least. "Now you know why I wear my blindfold most of the time."
"Naruto, why did you ask Kakashi-sensei about the fate of the Nine Tailed Fox before you would answer his question?" Takumi asked, still confused about the little conversation between the two.
'Kurama, what do you think? Should I tell them all about you?'
'Not yet, kit. Wait until after you're all ANBU. You ARE going to accept, right?' Kurama asked.
'Of course! It's my chance to become a ninja without having to take the academy exam!'
'Whatever, kit, but you'd better respond to the Takahashi brat,' said Kurama.
'I know...' "All in good time, my generous friend. All in good time." There were a few eye rolls at that.
"So... Do you three accept the recruitment?" Tenzo asked tentatively.
Sasuke was about to say something when Naruto interrupted him, saying, no, yelling, "BELIEVE IT!"
"So do I," Takumi agreed. The two of them then looked at the last Uchiha expectantly.
Sasuke sighed, looking defeated. "Fine, I guess I accept, too."
"WOO HOO!" yelled Naruto, grinning from ear to ear.
Kakashi smiled softly behind his facemask. "Great! All we have to do is go to the Hokage to make it final and explain how things will work out for the next year."
"When?"
"Now, preferably. Why, did we catch you three at a bad time?" Ryosuke answered.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Takumi looked at each other before they started to laugh. Well, Sasuke just smirked while Takumi chuckled and Naruto laughed fairly loud, drawing confused looks from all four ANBU in the training ground.
Sasuke looked at the ANBU and said, "Today's Naruto's birthday, idiots. You recruited us but didn't pay attention to our dates of birth?" rather sarcastically.
