Chapter 6

We arrived at a cobblestone path that led a pretty far distance. We got out the carriage and then walked in the path. We stopped at the end of it and saw a beautiful crystal lake. Tied to the dock was a canoe, two paddles, a basket and an umbrella.

"What's all this for?", I asked.

"Everything you've done", he replied.

I looked at the lake and there were lillies everywhere and little petals falling into the water. He led me to the canoe and I climbed in carefully. I held the umbrella in my hand realizing that the sun was beginning to set. I held it where the sun couldn't reach me while Cole got us out onto the lake.

"You like this?", he asked.

"It's not really my style but you did good", I replied.

He smiled and continued to set us out into the middle of the lake. We stopped and he put the paddles in the canoe with us. I opened the basket and found fruit, sandwiches and two see through bottles. They both contained lemonade and ice. I pulled out one of the sandwiches and and saw that it was a turkey sandwich with mayo. Which is my favorite.

"How did you know this was my favorite sandwich?", I asked.

"Cause it's my favorite so I figured you might like it", he replied.

"What if I didn't?", I asked before taking a bite of my sandwich.

"Then that's why I also packed fruit. Lots of fruit that we both probably won't eat", he replied.

I took another bite of my sandwich and looked out at the lake. It was sparkly and the water looked like floating crystals on water. Words can't even describe what the lake looks like. I picked up a strawberry and popped it in my mouth leaving the leafy part out. It was sweet and fresh that you can practically taste the freshness. I threw the stem in a plastic bag that was packed in the basket for our trash. I continued to eat my sandwich and spotted Cole staring at me.

"What? See something you like?", I asked.

"Actually I do", he replied.

"Really? What would that be?", I asked.

"A pretty girl that's sitting in a canoe with me", he replied.

I laughed at him saying this.

"Really? I don't see her", I said laughing.

"Well I think you would like her because she's great and beautiful', he said.

"Well when you see her let me know so I can meet her", I said.

We both laughed at my joke and soon I caught a glimpse of a sparkle in his eye.

"Isabel, there's something I have to tell you", he said.

"What is it?", I asked.

"Did I ever tell you how much I love you?", he asked.

"Well you have before but I've never seen it", I replied.

"Really? You've never seen it?", he asked.

"Yep. That's my answer and I'm sticking to it", I replied.

"What about when I turned you?", he asked.

"That was something we both wanted", I said.

"When I proposed?", he asked.

"That's something you wanted to do. And the reign is beautiful by the way", I replied.

"Oh come on Isabel. The proposal was something out of love", he said.

"Not really", I said.

"This picnic?", he asked.

I thought about it for a second.

"Yeah sure", I replied.

I put all my trash in the bag and began drinking my lemonade. It tasted funny. Like something else was in it.

"What's wrong?", he asked.

"This lemonade. Something about it doesn't taste right. What's in this?", I asked.

"Lemons, water, sugar", he replied. "And blood", he said but covered it with a cough.

"Cole. That's disgusting", I shrieked.

I spit out the lemonade and wiped my mouth.

"Is it in both bottles?", I asked.

He nodded in reply. That sneaky little prince.

"Oh come on. Don't pretend like you didn't like it", he said.

"I'm not pretending cause I hated it. I really didn't like it", I said.

He chuckled and I gave him the I'm gonna kill you look. He of course he just laughed.

"Well we better head back to the castle. It's getting late and we have lots of stuff to do", he said.

"I'm gonna get you once we get on land", I said.

"Oh come on Isabel. It wasn't that bad was it? Would you prefer one little drop mixed in lemonade or a whole bottle straight?", he asked.

"I guess the one drop but it was still disgusting. I don't see how you can drink that stuff", I said.

"I've been doing it longer than you were born in your human life", he said.

We got back on and like I said, I was gonna get him. I got my revenge by tackling him onto the ground playfully.

"What's this for?", he asked.

"For making me drink blood", I replied.

I kissed his cheek and took the basket he dropped when I playfully tackled him.

'That's all I get?", he asked.

I kept walking trying to play hard to get.

"Why are you playing hard to get?", he asked.

I felt him grab my hand.

"Well, unless you have any more plans for us today, I would like to go home and relax", I replied.

He chuckled and looked at me.

"What's so funny?", I asked.

"You're playing hard to get which makes you even cuter", he replied.

"Well then I must be pretty darn hot cause that's exactly what I'm doing", I said.

We saw the carriage pull up and got inside. We drove to the castle and made it there on fifteen minutes. We went inside and went to the room. I put on my pajamas and got in bed. I felt Cole kiss my cheek but he didn't get in bed. I saw him head to the door.

"Where are you going?", I asked.

"I'm just going to check in a few things", he replied.

He walked out the room and closed the door behind him. I got comfortable and closed my eyes letting the darkness take over me.

Hey guys. So this chapter took forever cuz I had no idea what to write untimely now obviously. So this book is past 100 reads and thx to the flames who've felt like they've become apart of Isabel's journey. Also what do you guys think about the little picnic they had on the lake?
