The Underground vs. The Undead

Let me just start this off with this comment;

This story is designed to be a dramatic comedy, and by no means do expect you to take it seriously.

It's a joke hahaha. But, it's for fun, and I do hope that it entertains you.

"Hey, Spencer?"

"Yeah Hay?"

"You got an extra guitar strap, mine got jacked at our last gig."

Spencer was the bass player for our band, Raggedy Anne. I did guitar and vocals.

This gig wasn't looking so good. A whole lot less people started coming to our gigs after Nattie set her drums on fire a couple gigs back.

And a whole lot of places wouldn't let us play there anymore. Now, pretty much just the strictly punk clubs and bars would let us in.

ESPECIALLY after our last gig, when the pit cause five injuries, and $200 worth of damage. Which was $50 dollars MORE than we got paid for that gig... so we actually lost money on that one.

I ran my hands through my hair, scanning the scantly populated club.

I counted.

Fifteen people.

The oldest ones being in their early twenties.

I sighed. Thats Ok, Its Ok. We're only 19, we're not gonna draw in much older of an audience.

Fifteen people can still form a killer pit, its Ok, it's ok.

"You Ok Haely?" Spencer said, putting his hand on my shoulder.

I jumped.

"Yeah yeah. Fine. I'll be Ok. I'm just getting bad vibes about this gig, is all. I'll be fine. Let's just get it over with."

He looked concerned. I hate his concerned face. It makes me feel like a child.

"Spence. I'll be fine. Ok?"

He hesitated. That means he doesn't believe me.

"Ok. What songs to you wanna do?"

"Ah, hmm. Let's just do a few Ok? This is such a sad group, everyone is just gonna get drunk and go home after the first set any ways, so lets go ahead and do Charity Case, Alice, Zombie, Brain Pan, and Forget About It. Kay?"

"Haely. Those are like our most agressive songs."

I grinned. "Might as well make the most of this crappy gig right?"

He smiled.

"That's exactly what I was hoping you'd say."
