"Midnight?!?" John asked, as soon as I told the others. "But that's two hours away!"
"Then we better go now, hadn't we?" Sherlock asked, tapping his leg so Redbeard came to him.
"Ok, then. Wait 5 seconds." I muttered, pulling out a card. I clicked my fingers, and the mistform drawn on the card turned into my sword, much to John's surprise. A blank card fell to the floor, and I pocketed it.
"Won't be much good against spells, but it's good for combat." I said, looking at the blade. The green symbols that covered it were strangely comforting, familiar. The last time I had used the sword not just in practice was the summer holiday after third year, when I had spent over a month with my brother, and Woody. Not only were we hunted by monsters, but the gods and their children from Camp Half-Blood wanted us to surrender to them. Needless to say, we had refused. That had resulted in us having to fight, and then flight.
"Henry..?" John asked, sighing.
"Yes, sorry, what?" I asked, breaking my train of thought.
"Are you coming, or not?" John asked.
"Definitely coming. I'm not exactly going to miss this." I said, and hurried after them.
Once we got to the base of the Astronomy tower, I started to become worried. I made myself think of something else, so I could wait without panicking.
We waited at the top of the tower, listening. Eleven o'clock came, and went, and we saw nothing. Nothing but the stars above us, and the grounds beneath.
Twelve o'clock, and nothing. Sherlock shifted where he sat. John whispered "I wish this was over already."
"Shhhh." I replied.
One o'clock. Sherlock started shivering, so I sent him inside with John, keeping Redbeard with me for company.
Two o'clock. I walked inside, having finally given up. We walked back to our separate houses exhausted, and annoyed.
I was woken up by the other girls in my dorm clattering around, talking about what they were planning to wear to the Hogsmead trip that day.
I didn't want to leave the safety of the castle, and nor did Sherlock. John was also scared, but not as scared as us. It was a new feeling, being afraid. A feeling I'd never felt before, which, in turn, kind of scared me. There was none of the usual adrenaline that I usually had before a battle, because, for some reason he hadn't turned up. The battle was far from over, though.
"Tonight?" John asked, as we sat in the common room after everyone returned from Hogsmead. "Do you think he meant tonight?"
"Well..," Sherlock started doubtfully.
"That is exactly what he would do." I muttered. "John, Sherlock, be up at the tower by ten to twelve." I jumped up.
"Where are you going?" John asked.
"The tower. He may come before midnight, so I'll have to hold him off until you guys get there. If no-one's there to stop him then what in Hades will he do?"
"I don't want to think about it." Sherlock sighed.
"Exactly." I said.
"Sorry, Hades?" John asked.
"It's an expression." I said, not having time to explain.
I left the common room, sword in one hand, and wand in the other. I must have looked an odd sight, so it was lucky that no- one saw me.After an hour of waiting on the windy tower, I walked inside quickly to warm up. John and Sherlock were just arriving, Redbeard walking proudly in front of them.
I had hardly left my post for a minute, but when we walked back outside another figure was standing on the parapet. He had his Death Eater's mask on, but we all knew who it was.
