After Care of magical creatures, we walked back up to the castle, to have transfiguration.
Sherlock and I slipped into seats halfway back, and he started to get his stuff out.
"Won't need those, Mr Holmes." Professor McGonagall rapped on his desk with her knuckles. "Today is a purely practical lesson."
Some Gryffindors at the back cheered.
I noticed that this was the Gryffindor class that we hadn't had lessons with since first year, it being only half of the Gryffindor fifth years.I saw a Gryffindor girl look at my cousin. I told Sherlock quietly, while everyone was putting books back into bags.
"Tell her I'm not interested." Sherlock muttered back, groaning.
"Ok." I nudged him, teasing.
I glanced around at the class again, and someone smiled at me, drawing my attention towards them. It was John Watson, from the train. He was sitting next to a girl in his house, who I think was called Mary... Morstan. Yeah, that was it.
I noticed that he laughed too hard at what she was saying, and kept glancing at her. Hmm. He obviously loved her.
"Right." McGonagall said, stopping all chatter.
The lesson began, and the time flew..
But in quiditch, once again, Sherlock refused to get on a broom. Even for a second. He sat in the stands, and thought.
I flew around, playing chaser. Quiditch was a sport that I kind of enjoyed. Especially as I had got a Nimbus two- thousand-and-one for my birthday.
"Come on, Sherlock." I flew down to the stands. Madam Hooch had given up on Sherlock long before.
"No." came the short reply.
"I won't let you fall." I said.
"I said, no." Sherlock said, and turned away from me.
"Fine then." I groaned, and flew back to the game.
Sherlock sprang up as soon as Madam Hooch dismissed us, and we hurried to lunch.
We avoided Mycroft, and sat as far away from him as we could, but I was still wondering if I could flick a piece of sweetcorn at him.
Then came potions.
We were brewing an Everlasting Fire Potion.
When we were finished, I glanced at the green liquid in the jar."Right!" Snape growled. "Let's see which ones worked."
He swooped down on Sherlock and me, and took our jar. He dropped the jar in a cauldron of water, and the class gasped to see flames dance across the surface of the water.
"Hmm. It'll do." And he turned to the next pair."It's practically the wizard equivalent of Greek fire." I whispered to Sherlock.
He nodded."Talking, Miss Holmes?" Snape snapped.
"Sorry, Professor." I said quickly.
"Five points from Ravenclaw!"
Everyone turned to stare at me, but Sherlock tapped my arm. Don't worry.
Morse code. Over time, it had saved us.I don't tend to. I replied.
Good. Came the reply.
Finally the class was dismissed, and we were let out of the stone walled dungeon that had been our prison for an hour.
After herbology Sherlock and I went to the library to do our homework.
When the familiar tapping noise stopped, I looked up at Sherlock. He was leaning on the table, his head in his hands."What?" I asked, putting down my quill, potions homework forgotten.
"You'd think that wizards are advanced." Sherlock said angrily. "You'd think that we have potions to cure anything."
I could see where this was going. "Sherlock..."
"You'd think that we'd have a potion to restore sight!" Sherlock said angrily.
