Locked Heart

We all started to eat. Despite sitting away from us, I still managed to catapult a mushy pea at Mycroft. It landed on his sleeve, and he didn't notice it.

Sherlock was very quiet. "So, new defence against the dark arts teacher, professor Lupin?" I asked.

"Isn't it said that the post is cursed?" Sherlock asked me, but he already knew the answer. "He won't last long."

Mycroft lent his elbow on the table. The pea was well and truly mushed into Mycroft's sleeve. I knew that I was a fifth year, and so I was meant to be sensible, but it was satisfying to see Mycroft's pristine uniform get ruined.
"What's with the silence?" Sherlock asked. "Are you ill?"

"No, just watching a pea I flicked at Mycroft get rubbed into his uniform without his knowledge." I muttered.

Sherlock smiled slightly.

After Dumbledore had dismissed us, we bounded up the stairs to the Ravenclaw Tower.
Sherlock turned, and walked up the stairs to his dorm.

"Henry!" a voice shouted. It was one of the few people who I got on with at Hogwarts, Hugo.

"Hi." I said.

"How was your holiday?"

"Fine." I replied. "You?"

"Well... You know how I said that cards bring bad luck?" I nodded. "And how we played cards at the end of last term? Well, I got home and found Grace on life support."

"Oh my god! Is she ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, now she is. She took a fall." Hugo was muggle- born, and his sister Grace did a lot of gymnastics. "Apart from that my holiday was great."

He wandered off to catch up with some other friends.

Lessons started the next day. I groaned to find that we had transfiguration and DADA with Gryffindor.
