CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
BAILEY
In a matter of seconds, something very cold lands on my face.
"PAYBACK!"
Ice cream slides down my face as I hear Phoenix laughing. I pick up a chunk off my cheek and pelt it at her face. She tries to throw another chunk back but I dodge it. We hear a scream follow.
"These are my new Hollister Jeans!" a girl screams, and Phoenix and I are trying to contain our laughter.
The girl has a huge splotch of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream on her 'new' jeans and some on her top and hair.
Phoenix sprints back to Baskin Robbins then comes back with a million napkins in her hands.
"I'm so sorry that I...ruined your new jeans." She apologizes, although I can see that as soon as we part ways, she'll laugh head off.
The girl huffs sadly, as she wipes the remainder of the ice cream off her jeans. "Maybe you shouldn't be so stupid and throw freaking ice cream all over the place."
Phoenix has a spark in her eyes as she takes a step toward the girl. I put a hand on her shoulder before she could say a word. "Nix, calm down."
The girl smirks. "You better listen to your boyfriend."
My friend blushes and I have to hold her back. The girl flips her hair as Phoenix complains that I am clearly not her boyfriend. That makes something in my stomach flip for some reason.
"Whatever. I'm going to watch Mean Girls."
My ears perk up at the mention of the chick-flick.
Phoenix groans. Ever since she introduced the movie to me, I have been 'raving' about it since we watched it last winter.
"I'm Bailey." I said, holding a hand out to her.
She looks at it then shakes it as she smiles. "I'm Déjà."
LUNA
"Ah! I'm so proud of them! I always knew they'd start dating!" I scream into the phone.
"Who are you talking about?" Dakota asks, trying to look at my phone. "Shelby and Wryn!" I exclaim incredulously.
