CHAPTER SIX

BLAIRE

ONE WEEK LATER

I meet Ashton and Luna at the bus stop. "You ready for senior year?" Luna asks as we wait for the bus.

"Fuck yeah," I smile.

It was a little different without Parker being around. We talked a few hours last night. He wished me good luck and to study hard.

"Oi, look!" Ashton yells. "The bus!"

On the bus, Phoenix got everyone to sing The Wheels on the Bus. Her reason, "Because we're getting so close to being adults! We need to be kids while we can!"

Sometimes I really do wonder about her. I notice Logan and Dakota sitting together and smile, yet something twinges. Bailey and texted me about the 'evil plan' that only helped him get the girl. Speaking of Bailey...

"Guys, guys!"

Logan and Dakota ignore him as they walk into t eh school. Just as I roll my eyes, Phoenix jumps out of the bus, meeting Bailey with a weird yet complex handshake.

"So Logan and Dakota are—"

"Yup."

Luna, Levi and Ashton finally join us and I remind Bailey that he had something to say. He slaps his forehead. "Oh yeah! I bought a monkey!"

We all stare at him with wide-eyes. Phoenix speaks up first. "You...bought a monkey?"

Bailey nods. "His name is Joseph."

Ashton begins to laugh but Levi elbows him. "Ow, okay! Joseph?"

Luna sighs. "Why did you get a monkey, Bailey?"

"Because he looked sad so I bought him!"

I laugh but stop immediately. A girl with blonde hair and blue and purple streaks walks by me, giving me a wink.

Who was she again? Her name was on the tip of my tongue.

"Blaire? Earth to Sky!"

Someone grabs my sleeve and I flinch. Phoenix is tugging me towards the door. "You are so lucky the seniors have an assembly today." She huffs. "You stood there for a good ten minutes."

I feel my cheeks heat up from embarrassment. "Lucky for you, I came back." Phoenix said.

I would have thanked her but I was still trying to remember a certain girl's name.

LUNA

Two hands cover my eyes and someone whispers into my ear. "Guess who."

"Mmm... I hope it's my wonderful boyfriend...Jack." I said, a smile tugging at my lips.

The hands snap away from my face and I see Jon. "Who's Jack?" He asks. "Luna, don't you dare tell me you're cheating on me!"

I give him a chaste kiss on the lips and smile as I pull away. "Calm down, Jon. I was kidding. Forever—remember?"

He smiles then throws an arm around my shoulders. "Good. You're mine and mine only. No one gets a piece of you but me."

"Possessive much?" I chuckle.

I hear Levi groan in complaint. He never really liked Jon. Neither did Parker or Bailey.

"Good morning seniors!"

Now it was time for the assembly to start.
