CHAPTER SIXTEEN
LOGAN
On the way back to San Francisco, Luna and Dakota, fall asleep in the back seats. Blaire sits in the passenger seat next to me, staring at her phone. My eyes try to focus on the dark road, as I try to keep myself awake.
I suddenly hear Blaire take in a sharp breath before dropping her phone. I look over at her and see tears rolling down her cheeks.
I pull the car over quickly and she runs out.
"Blaire?" I call when I step out of the car.
I find her leaning against the trunk with a hand covering her mouth.
"What's wrong?"
She shakes her head, unable to speak.
I walk back to the front of the car and grab her phone. It was on her text messages.
FROM: PARKER: Sky, I love you with all my heart and I want you to know that I'll always be there for you when you need me. I just don't think this long distance relationship will work out. Please call me as soon as you can so we can talk.
My fists are clenching tight and I want to hit Parker for hurting Blaire. She deserved someone better. She was an amazing girl and—
"Logan?" I hear Dakota say. "Why did we stop?"
"It's nothing Kota. Blaire just got a little carsick, that's all. Go back to sleep."
She looks at me for a few second and nods. When I walk back around, I find Blaire staring up at the sky. She turns her head towards me. "He broke up with me. I guess we're just better off as friends."
I open up my arms and she walks over to me, falling into my arms. She holds onto me tightly and I do the same.
PHOENIX
My eyes flutter open as morning sunlight beings to fill the room. Something tugs on my blanket and I tug back, rolling myself in it. Then it is tugged again and I roll with it, groaning in complaint as my face hits something hard.
An arm wraps around me and I'm trapped. This boy was like a heater. "Bailey, wake up and let me go!" I whine, beginning to squirm. "At this rate, I won't need the blanket!"
"Okay, Miss Grumpy." He mutters, letting go of me.
I stand and stretch, kicking Bailey lightly. "Get up so we can have some fun I our last day in Michigan."
