This is insane. There are hundreds of things to choose from, thousands even. What are you supposed to buy your unofficially claimed boyfriend's parent who is your principal that happens to not like you?

"Maybe we should buy him a bottle of gin and call it a day" My father joked from behind me. I heard my mom groan in frustration getting tired of his bad ideas. First he offered to buy him a pack of pencils, then he offered to buy him nothing but since my mother insisted my father's next suggestion is buying him gin.

"Richard will you stop. We are not buying our daughter's principal liquor" My mom nagged. We've been standing in Walmart for a good hour or so. I texted Chase twenty minutes ago asking him what were his father's likes but he hasn't responded yet. I know he's probably at work doing whatever he does now since he left his construction job thingy but it would mean a lot if he replied.

"Your mom and I are planning to leave tomorrow night for Florida. You still don't want to come?"

"I'm sure" I sighed, picking up a lamp. Maybe I should get Turner a lamp. Yeah, a lamp. He does need to lighten up.

"What are you going to do all night on Halloween then?" Mother asked.

"Hang out with friends" I shrugged. More like hang out with Chase because Drea, Kurt and Aiden are most likely going to go out to a party.

"Why does Turner want to meet us again?" My dad asked. So I lied. I told my parents Turner wanted to meet them to discuss how I've been doing in school. I had to make it seem like I was doing super well because if not my parents would've asked "then why couldn't he call in for a parent-teacher conference?" My dad is pretty irritated because he knows Turner used to have a crush on my mom back in the olden days. Just like Mr. Mcconaughey. Apparently my mom was very loved by lots of boys. We're extremely different.

"Because he just does" I shrug retrieving my phone from my pocket. There's a message from Chase

Chase

Don't get him anything. He hates gifts

How could you hate free things?

"Um, this is unnecessary... We should go because we're going to be late" I stated. My mom was going to oblige but my father stopped her by shaking his head. They followed me out the store and we piled into the car. Drea, Kurt and Aiden said they were going to meet us there and we'd all go in together. Tonight is going to be a rollercoaster.

When it seemed like forever, we finally reached the Turner's place. My father put the car in park and I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt rushing out the car.

"Wow, I've never seen her so excited for something school-related" I ignored what my mom said because I was way too busy gawking at the tall beautiful house that stood in front of me.

It look to be about four stories and it stretched across the hill. It's walls were covered with brown oak logs and there were tall glass windows extended here and there with orange lights pouring from them coming from the chandeliers you can see from the outside dangling above a living room on one side and what looked to be a dining room on the other. On the right side of the house there was a garage with similar features to the house. A red Porsche Boxster sitting in front of it. Around the house were surrounding broad trees settled on top of the most clean-cut grass I've ever seen in my life. I always knew Shane had money and figured Chase would have some too since they were living together... but this? They're rich as hell.

"Well, here are our guests" Chase's voice spoke. My head snapped towards the front door to see Chase running down the steps.

"Chase Turner. Principal Turner's son, nice to meet you" Chase held out his hand for my parents. My mom's eyebrows furrowed while my dad looked at her in question.
