Chase. Chase. Chase.
He's so gorgeous. The way his hair looked like fingers ran through it a million times in messy way. How his lips are always made in a pouty shape. His chiseled cheeks made him look so handsome. His long lashes that outlined his eyelids and his fair skin that always glowed made me somehow insecure. What if he's just like Shane? Attractive and charming at first but a monster once you get to know them?
No, he couldn't be... Could he?
His eyelids pulled apart from each other, revealing Chase's golden hazel eyes. They looked so peculiar as if he was hiding something. That moment when he woke up with his eyebrows furrowed made me realize Chase has his own share of secrets too.
"Hey" His chirpy mask quickly erased the mystery evident on his face. His voice caught me off guard with how husky and sexy it was. Forgetting what I was just thinking of a few seconds ago, I took the time to admire him. His face is God-like. He is absolutely the most breathtaking guy I've ever seen in my life.
"Hi" I cowered away, falling on my back. My heart ached being parted from his beautiful sculpture with my head on his chest, but I couldn't stay there any longer. I was beginning to feel self-conscious.
"What's wrong?" His voice faltered. It sounded like someone who hit puberty backwards. Deep and strong but broken into a high pitched squeak. It almost made me laugh.
"Nothing" I looked up at the morning sky. Bright and sunny with a few passing clouds.
"Something's obviously wrong" He chuckled gravelly from behind me. Oh sweet Jesus. I literally bit my lip to keep me from moaning. "Come here"
I flinched at his tug on my arm.
"You're too handsome" I whispered. Yeah, no kidding Eff.
"Why thank you" He said elegantly. Great, now you've unleashed his cockiness. "I'm sorry..." He whispered catching on to my annoyed state. I sat up, picking at the grass that tickled my toes. My chucks sat right next to my feet looking partially dark from getting soaked last night. Chase mimicked me, folding his arms over his knees. "Eff?"
I glanced up at the flowing river, then looked back down at the grass, mentally sighing in preparation for what he was going to say.
"Yes?"
"You're stunning you know" He stated simply. I could hear his breathing becoming lighter by the passing seconds as if he was holding it in. Warmth filled my body with such intensity that I wanted to jump in the river to cool down. It took me a while but I couldn't let Chase die holding his breath
"Thank you" I mumbled, and with that he let out a lungful of air.
"And can I tell you something else?" He questioned. I repeated my movements from earlier, again composing myself for what was next.
"Sure"
"I am captivated by you" His voice whispered in my ear. I looked to my right to meet him staring straight into my eyes. His eyes sparkling with... admiration.
"Wow. We've only seen each other three or four times give or take" I chuckled. It's true. Here I am swooning over him and we haven't really known each other for long. I was only attracted to him for his looks is what people would say. But I say, I like everything about him. His cheekiness, of course his looks, and the serious side of him.
"And?"
"It's just weird is all" I shrugged.
"Weird? Is that how you think of Romeo and Juliet?" He questioned, catching me off guard with the literary couple.
