As Emma and David were walking back to their apartment, they were stopped by Ruby, who came running out from Granny's, her eyes wide.

"It's Belle," she cried. "She was in the car with Gold. I think he was going to take her over the town line!"

"Okay," Emma replied taking the squad car parked outside the flat. "We're on it." As her father climbed in, she noticed another figure coming towards her.

"Where's Henry?" Emma called to her mother.

"He's fine, Emma," Mary Margaret assured her. "He's in bed."

"Get in," Emma called as she starts the engine and, sirens blazing, they started towards the town line.

"I'm at the town line," she said once they'd arrived and climbed out to get a better view of the incident before them. "Two people down, maybe three. There's a car - pretty banged up with Pennsylvania plates." Her eyes fell to the side of the road and she started walking over to the crumpled body.

"Hey, beautiful," the pirate said, his voice hoarse from the blow. "Here, I didn't think you'd notice." Emma leant down and pushed him. He cried out in pain.

"Your ribs are broken," she stated and he grinned.

"Oh, that must be why it hurts when I laugh," he joked before raising his voice. "Did you see his face? His one true love, gone in an instant! Just like Milah, crocodile! When you took her from me..." Mr Gold heard and whipped around to face him.

"But you took her first." Gold lunged at Hook, his cane digging into his neck. David followed and grabbed him, preventing him from doing excessive damage. Hook grimaced, but he was still smiling.

"Gold, are you insane?!" Emma cried.

"Yes, I am!"

"You can't do that!" David said.

"I can if you let me go." Emma changed tack.

"You don't want her to see that."

"I'm a stranger to her," Gold replied through gritted teeth.

"Murder is a bad first impression."

"What would Belle want you to do?" David tried. Mr Gold looked up at the sound of ambulance sirens and David pulled him away from Hook. "Over here!" he called but Emma directed them away.

"No! Him!" she called, pointing to the car wreckage. "Take care of him. He can wait." Mary Margaret looked over from her place by Belle, said something and trotted across to her daughter.

They watched as the paramedics completed a few basic checks on the unconscious driver.

"Do you know this guy?" Emma asked and Mary Margaret shook her head.

"I've never seen him before."

"That's because he drove into town," David announced, joining them again.

"From the outside?" Mary Margaret looked worried, but the emotion on her daughter's face was hard to read.

"Looks like the world just came to Storybrooke."
