As soon as Kiliah had taken the ship out of sight from the land, she studied the map again. From what she understood, Storybrooke was in a place called Maine which she found on the East Coast of a large country called America. It was bigger than any country she had seen before – though New York seemed only a short distance away, she calculated that it must be at almost two days away, even with the speed of the Jolly Rodger.

Manning the ship by herself was a large task. Navigated normally, it would take at least a crew of twenty to fill all the roles needed, but Kiliah was no ordinary sailor. She decided to keep just out of sight from the land – far enough to stay out of sight and avoid attracting too much attention from the nearby ports, but at the same time close enough to follow the line of the coast around.

In quieter waters, when the direction was straight, Kiliah started planning how she’d do it. She had found a vial of poison below decks which had been left behind after a trade – enough to kill the boy and maybe even the Dark One. Granted, poison was a coward’s weapon, but she didn’t feel as though the people of New York would take too kindly to her walking through their streets with a sword in her belt, and a dagger simply wouldn’t do. She wanted something which would slowly eat them from their insides, burning their way through their body until there was nothing left. The process could take days, or even hours, depending on what concentration she gave.

After almost two days of sailing, a large green statue came into view. Kiliah looked in quiet awe from the wheel as she steered the ship past, taking in the woman’s passive face and the torch in her hand. She had never seen anything like it – it towered above the Titan of Braavos which she had sailed under before. It seemed New York had a taste for building big, however – from the harbour all she could see were tall buildings so high that most of them were touching the clouds. As she anchored up, she wondered how easy it would be to find Bae within this big and unusual city. She could only hope that she managed it before Henry and the Crocodile left.
