Kiliah had an idea where to start looking for the dagger. She remembered that when she'd been in the hospital, there had been a young woman in the bed beside her who the Dark One had visited. She remembered now that the woman was Belle - the Dark One's lover from the Enchanted Forest.
She passed through the hospital relatively unnoticed, tracing her steps back to the the ward she had stayed on. As she arrived, Kiliah noticed the woman was sitting up and so she knocked on the door.
"Hiya, can I come in?" she asked, smiling gently over at Belle.
"Er, sure," the woman replied with a frown, and Kiliah walked over to the bed and sat on the end.
"Sorry, this must be strange for you," she said, noticing the woman's uncomfortable posture. "We were friends before your accident."
"Really?" Kiliah nodded in response. "Sorry, it's just all a big blur." She considered for a moment, then looked up at Kiliah. "You might be able to help me actually."
Kiliah smiled. "What do you need?"
"You're probably going to think I'm crazy," Belle started hesitantly, "but that night when I had my accident, I was bleeding. A man came to me and suddenly there was a bright light an he healed me. Tell me, how could that happen? Everyone's been putting it down to my drugs, but I know it's something more."
Kiliah smiled, trying to hide her smirk. "You're right."
Belle looked up at her in surprise. "Don't mock me."
"I'm not," Kiliah reassured her. "What you saw was magic. The man who you reckon healed you actually took your memories. He's the one who did this to you."
"Why would he do that to me?"
"Because you were on the brink of discovering the truth about him."
Belle frowned and shook her head. "Sorry, this is too much."
"He has a weapon - a dagger," Kiliah continued. "It's soaked in dark magic. You were close to stopping him, but now there's nothing preventing him from doing the same as he did to you to everyone else."
Belle's eyes widened. "Is this really true?"
"You saw it yourself," Kiliah pointed out, and Belle nodded. "Do you remember anything - anything at all - about where you went before your accident?"
"No, I -" she started, then stopped. Belle reached over for her handbag. "Wait, there was this." She pulled out a yellow card and passed it to Kiliah. "It's from the library and was dated from the day of my accident."
Kiliah grinned. "Excellent! Thank you, you might have just saved the day." She handed back the card and ran towards the door. "Good luck on your recovery!" She looked forward to seeing the look on Belle's face once her memory had been restored, knowing that she had helped kill her precious Rumplestiltskin.
