After hearing that the Dark One's dagger was the only weapon that could kill him, Hook became intent on leaving Neverland and finding it. As such, they had made port around the back of the island and were trekking through the jungle to negotiate a passage out of the magical land with Pan. Kiliah came along with him and Smee, but only to see if she could find Bae.

"Mr. Smee, you might want to pick up the pace," Hook called back to the trader trailing behind. "It would do our journey and your physique some good."

"Sorry, Cap'n," Smee replied, but as he did she thought she heard a rustle in the bushes. She looked over at where the sound came from as they continued to walk, but couldn't see anything. It was probably nothing. "It's just this place gives me the creeps. Don't you think we should head back to the ship?"

"Not until I've found a way off this accursed island," Hook replied. "We've dawdled here for too long. Now that I know there's a dagger to end the Dark One, we must return to our land. My purpose is renewed."

"Why can't your purpose be back at the ship where it's safe?" Smee grumbled quietly. Kiliah turned to reply but as she did, he fell to the ground.

"Smee?" she said, then was quickly knocked out herself.

Hook turned in time to see her fall, but before he could run back to her, he felt the cold blade of a knife against his throat as someone pulled his hair.

"Aren't you a little old to be a Lost Boy?" she asked.

"I'm not part of Pan's brigade," Hook breathed, struggling against her grasp, "and I can assure you I am anything but a boy."

"Who are you, and why are you here?"

"I'm the captain of the Jolly Roger and I'm here -" he winced as the female tugged harder at his hair. Usually, he wasn't one to complain when a lass did that, but then again usually it was in a bed. "Looking for some magic to help me make my way back home to my land. You don't have any, do you? Magic?"

"Fresh out," she replied, and Hook wriggled free before looking his captor over.

"I don't buy that for a second." He walked forward, pushing her back a few steps. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you are a fairy."

"And if I didn't know any better," she glanced down at his attire, "I'd say you're a pirate."

Hook grinned. "Guilty. So tell me, fairy, can you help me?"

"Help you?" she repeated, holding the knife back to his throat before dragging it gently across his skin. "Aren't you worried about me slitting your throat?"

Hook set his lantern down on a rock and moved his face closer to hers. "Well, that's not the fairy way. You should be helping me find my 'happy ending' or something else equally as precious."

"I was a fairy," the female allowed, lowering her knife. "A long time ago. But then my wings were taken away. As for your 'happy ending', you're on your own." As Hook reached into his pocket, she raised the knife again. "Watch it!"

"It's not a weapon," Hook grinned, showing her the hip flask. "In the traditional sense." He uncapped the top and offered it to her. "Rum?"

"What's so important back home?" The fairy asked as she took a sip.

"The Dark One murdered the woman I love and the mother of my daughter," he said, taking the bottle back. "And I intend to make him suffer for it."

"And killing him is your 'happy ending'?" she asked as Hook drank. "Even by doing so, you could end your own existence."

"I'd risk my life for two things; love and revenge. I lost the first, and if I die for my vengeance, then that's enough satisfaction for me."

"But how do you plan to get Pan to let you off the island?" she asked. "He's never let anyone go."

"Whatever his price is, I'll be willing to pay it."

"Then I wish you all the best."

Hook frowned. "You're not coming?"

"My place is here now. I have nowhere else to go."

Hook's gaze lingered on her for a moment, before nodding and going back for Kiliah and Smee.
