James: I hex him only when you're around. We were just returning from the kitchens at that time, Sirius and I.
Lily: Ohh... wait, what??
James: C'mon Lily! You know we go to the kitchens.
Lily: Yeah. I'm talking about the other part.
James: Which one?
Lily: The sole reason you wanted to hex him was to get me to go out with you??? How manipulative!!!!
James: No Lilykins... part of it, maybe. But he always used to tell against me, didn't he? And there were a lot of other reasons, you know.
Lily: So you chose to hurt him??
James: Hex him, yes. Hurt him, no. We always wanted to make fun of him so that he would never put his nose in our affairs. But never to hurt him, at least not intentionally.
Lily: He used to be a best mate, you know.
