Maya's POV
"The door's locked!"I pounded my fists against the wall, yelling for Riley.
She didn't respond.
Farkle was saying his 21 times tables to calm himself down (don't ask).
A dozen knives were scattered all over the floor. Mr. and Mrs. Matthew were at Auggie's baseball game, so there was no one in the apartment.
"Riley get out!"
"Listen to Maya!"
"They're not real!"
"Please."
"They're figments of your imagination!"
"They'll disappear soon!
"Get out of the bathroom!"
"It will be over soon!"Please let her be okay, I prayed silently.
Suddenly, the door burst open, and Lucas came running in. He threw himself at the bathroom door, and everything dissolved into a mass of dust and wood.
We gasped.
