Riley's POV
A new chapter of my life has begun.
Graduation is next week.
But I can't forget.
It's our last art class. Maya is stubbornly telling the teacher not to cry, and her work is magnificent as always. Farkle is etching an ink tattoo on his skin carefully. It's not real, of course. Lucas sits next to me, sketching a magnificent white stallion.
Colours. That's all I can think of. It's a little difficult to be controlling several demons while being a full time human.
Suddenly, my mind begins to whir. I snatch a paintbrush, and I draw my fears away, forcing my feels onto the piece of paper. Ruby twirled with emerald, indigo entwined with gold.
"Riley Matthews...I can't believe this," the teacher gasps.
"Wow Riles," Maya whispers.
You're rubbish.
It's a facade, nothing else.
That 'masterpiece' won't stay a masterpiece. It will go back to dust.
You should've died when we told you to.
I slowly walked out of the classroom, blinking back tears. When I reached the toilets, I barged into a cubicle, and let three years worth of sadness rush out of my eyes.
