Oh thank god, she's alive.

"Riley!"

"Mum," she croaks out. My heart snaps in two, as I to listen to my haunted daughter sob.

"Riley, where are you?"

"Mum, it's all my fault...oh god...it's all my fault."

"What?"

"He did it, but I created him, oh god mum, it's all my fault."

"Riley, what happened?"

"Lucas was pushed off a cliff."

My heart stops, and suddenly, a loud whirring noise comes from Riley's side of the phone.

"Where are you?"

"Mum, Dad would go to the end of the world and back for you, right?"

"Of course."

"Farkle and the rest are in Auckland, they were transported by helicopter. They're at *insert random hospital*"

Leading to where?

Cory finds the key inside Riley's pillowcase, and he opens the trapdoor.

It reveals a small niche, with several items in it.

But only two catch my eye.

A key, meticulously crafted out of pure rubies.

A key, connected to rolled up parchment.

A key, connected to the words, 'It wasn't just about the boy.'
