Hiccup
"Oh come on, Merida. Just come out. You can do it." I told my depressed girlfriend Merida while fixing my black necktie.
She's been crying and locking herself in her room since she heard the news that her mother died.
And right now, I'm here in front of her bedroom door, waiting for her to go out. Today is her mum's burial. I kinda felt uncomfortable about wearing my suit.
"Aye don't think Aye can go out..." I heard her Scottish voice muttered.
"Oh come on, Merida. This is the last time you'll see her. Please come out!" I insisted her.
"Fine..." she exhaled and opened the door. She looked pretty in her black long sleeves and skinny jeans. And she had tear marks on her face.
She suddenly hugged me and sobbed out. She rest her head on my shoulder. "Aye... aye missed her so much..." She sobbed.
I hugged back and patted her back, to comfort her. I let go. "Let's go now?" I offered.
"A-Ahm not sure..." She answered shakily.
I wiped the tears from her eyes with my thumb and held her cheeks. "Don't worry, Mer. I'm here for you." I assured her and kissed her forehead.
She smiled slightly as I let go of her cheeks. She slung her arm against mine and we left her room.
**outside**
I put my helmet on and gave Mer my extra helmet. I sat on my motorcycle and she did the same, but she's behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist.
"Are you ready?" I asked her.
"Aye... think so..." she answered nervously.
"Don't worry, Mer. I won't leave you." I reassured her, starting the engine and drove away.
**in the cemetery**
People were surrounding the coffin, where Mer's mum is located.
"Mum!" I winced at how Merida shout that loud.
All the people looked at her and made way for her, since they all know that she's the daughter.
"Come on, Mer. I'm sure your mom needs to see you one last time." I guided her to go near the coffin.
Her lips quivered and threw her arms over my shoulder. And the next thing I know is that she sobbed her heart out.
All the people looked at her and pity her. She cried over her mum's coffin. "Ay-Ahm so sorry mum..." she apologized.
The scene kinda broke my heart, because I remembered the time I cried over dad's coffin during his funeral and Merida is comforting me that time.
I shook my thoughts off and helped Merida to stand up properly. She automatically hugged me.
"Don't worry, Mer. She still loves you." I told her.
She tried to smile, but it dropped, so we sat down.
**after the burial**
Everyone left, except me and Merida. She's staring at the ground blankly where her mum got buried.
**long ackward silence**
I received a text from mom.
**text**
From mom:
Hi son. Where are you? Go home for dinner. Love yah.
**end of text**
"Mer. Mom texted me to go home. Bye." I said and was about to leave until she grabbed my hands.
"Stay here...with meh..." She said with no expression.
"Look, I'm starving, and I know you're too. So please let's just go, because nothing will happen if you're just..." I paused, not knowing what to say next.
"No. I'll stay here." She said blankly, crossing her arms.
A smirk grew on my face and I texted mom.
**text**
To mom:
Mom. I'm here with Merida, in the cemetery. And she's depressed about her mom, so... Can you please make a creampuffs for her so I could go home?
**end of text**
I pressed the send and waited for reply.
**later**
**phone ring**
I opened the phone and it's a message from mom.
**text**
From mom:
Oh... I already baked creampuffs. Tell Merida, I'm sure she'll love it.
**end of text**
"Hey Mer. Mom said that she's making creanpuffs. Want some?" I asked her, smirking.
Her face lighten up. "Really!?" She squealed and I nodded.
"Why didn't you say so? Come on!" She jumped up and down and pulled me with her.
Oh Merida...
