Blinded by anger, Jang Mi rushed out of the club basically unnoticed. Leaving Choi Seung-Hyun behind. Her mind wasn't thinking straight. It was only thinking about her brother. Jang Mi was running through the busy streets of Seoul. The cold air of winter continued to rapidly freeze her body as she ran. Jang Mi had stopped mid way and ripped the bottom half of her expensive dress right off and ripped off the heels of her expensive shoes. She had thrown her long hair into a messy bun then continued her journey on running. Tears flowed freely down her face as she continued to run. She looked like a crazy person in the street.
Jang Mi knew exactly what her mom was going to do to her brother. She was going to use Jang Mi's name to lure him in. Then she'll have gangsters attack him causing him to fight back. He's not allowed to fight outside of the ring. The company he fights for will kick him out knowing he fought a bunch of guys outside of the ring. Jang Mi's mom will make him break the rules causing him to lose his job that he worked hard for almost his whole life.
Jang Mi stopped at a crosswalk. She continued to press the button for pedestrians to cross the street. She pressed it relentlessly while looking up and down the street. Willing to break a law to save her brother. She was jumping in her spot with worry and adrenaline. Both of it pumping into her veins were bound to make a bad mixup on unstable emotions. However, It was the only thing keeping her warmed up. For now.
When the light finally turned green, Jang Mi ran across the crosswalk not caring if she bumped into anyone. She ran and finally found herself running through an empty park. Jang Mi was whipping her head back and fourth to find her mom but only came up empty. The park was dark and eerie. She didn't see anyone in site. She couldn't hear anything either. Just the usual ringing of the ear when she was trying hard to listen out for anything. Jang Mi's body came to a sudden halt as she spotted her mom standing in an empty and open field. The ground was covered with snow here and there. Jang Mi saw her mom wearing a thick coat with both hands in her pocket. Her eyes turned to slates as she spotted Jang Mi standing across from her in the distance. Jang Mi didn't see Ji Hoon or any thugs around. She was starting to get worried that she was too late.
"Jang Mi, it's nice to see you." Jang Mi's mother said with a fake happy tone. "I was really expecting your brother to come first since you were attending a party. I'm glad you could join."
"Where is Ji Hoon?" Jang Mi asked panicked. "Just tell me where he is!"
"You're brother? He's not here. To my surprise, you came first. Your brother doesn't take care of you like an older brother should. Otherwise, he would've made it here before you." She chuckled. "And you two think 'each other' is all you twos got." She clicked her tongue. "I'm your mother. I'm here too."
Jang Mi scoffed. "You broke my ribs the night you found out I couldn't sing anymore. You call yourself a mother?" Jang Mi scoffed. "I don't know what classes you've been taking to take care of your kids but you're definitely doing it wrong. Not to mention all the work that dad had to do as single parent for the other half of mine and oppa's childhood. He did more as a parent than you could ever do in two lifetimes and with two more kids." Jang Mi snapped.
Jang Mi's mom laughed a humorless laugh as she took her hands out of her pocket. "You dare compare me to your father?" In her hand she held a sleek black small handgun that pointed directly towards Jang Mi. "Another lifetime?" She scoffed. "If I had another lifetime, I wouldn't have married your father and have two ungrateful children with him. You and Ji Hoon get that all from your dad's side."
Jang Mi held both hands up in defense. "What are you thinking?" Jang Mi said carefully. "A gun?" She said under her breath.
Jang Mi's mom has never gone this far. Never. Even when the gangsters were fighting them, they never carried a gun or weapon. They just came by themselves. Jang Mi didn't even know where her mom would even find a gun in Korea. It's not like America where it's easily found in the local Walmart. Jang Mi wouldn't know. All she knows is that a bullet is faster than a fist. She'll easily lose against her.
