Eight Months Later
It's been eight months since Jang Mi had gotten released out of the hospital . For the past eight months, it wasn't smooth roads for Jang Mi or Choi Seung-Hyun, in both their personal and relationship life. About six weeks after Jang Mi's hospital release, she seemed perfectly fine. Back to normal even. However, Choi Seung-Hyun wasn't buying it. He felt like she was lying. He couldn't understand how someone could just get shot and be okay with it. He continued to bother her about it but she continued to deny the fact that anything was wrong. So he would just drop the argument and leave it like that.
It wasn't until the surprise party that YG artists threw her to welcome her back after so long, Choi Seung-Hyun saw it. They both walked into YG Entertainment and everyone jumped out yelling surprise and popped poppers in the air. Jang Mi fell to the floor with terror in her eyes as they watered with fear.
Choi Seung-Hyun instantly went to her side, knowing how a panic attack looked like. He picked Jang Mi up and carried her away from the confused crowd. She was hyperventilating as he carried her in his arms. He opened his car door and placed Jang Mi on the seat. She was half out leaning on Choi Seung-Hyun's shoulder crying and hyperventilating. When her breathing slowed and her crying slowly stopped, he pushed Jang Mi's shoulder to see her face. He was worried for her and it was breaking his heart seeing her this way. She was slowly coming out of it and when she looked up at Choi Seung-Hyun, it didn't take long before she started crying again. He instantly wrapped himself around her as she cried into his chest. She was saying things while crying but Choi Seung-Hyun couldn't understand her Korean in her crying manner.
That's when he first found out Jang Mi had a problem with explosives and loud bangs. Choi Seung-Hyun had taken Jang Mi to therapy, to help her cope with what happened to her. After continuously attending therapy she was getting better. Choi Seung-Hyun noticed it too. She didn't cry when things popped or sounded off, she did get scared. Her nightmares as well were getting less which was the reason she was sleeping over at Choi Seung-Hyun's house more often than she usually had before. He was just happy that Jang Mi was getting better. Which was why the both of them agreed to appear on a famous talk show together.
"Unni, does it look alright?" Bora asked making Jang Mi look at her reflection.
Jang Mi looked at herself and took in her new look that she was ready to show the public. Jang Mi's hair was cut shoulder length and dyed dirty blond. Instead of her usual front bangs, her hair had a split to the middle left side of her head, making her hair constantly fall into her face. Her makeup was the perfect amount. Always flawlessly applied by Bora. The eyeliner was darker than usual but it made her eyes look bigger than they actually were. Pink lipstick and BB cream.
"It's perfect." Jang Mi smiled while getting up to hug Bora.
"Bae Jang Mi-ssi, you're going up soon."
Jang Mi nodded as she walked to the PD who had a headset on his head and clipboard in his hands. He handed Jang Mi a mic as she reached him at the entrance of Jang Mi's dressing room.
Exiting out of the room, Jang Mi noticed Choi Seung-Hyun standing the opposite to her with a smile placed highly on his lips. He held a hand out and Jang Mi easily placed her hands in his, fitting it perfectly against each other. Jang Mi took in his outfit and couldn't help but find him handsome, lovely and beautiful. All at the same time. He wore black dress pants and a button up white long sleeve shirt. His hair swept in the same way he wore it when attending an important show. His musky smell the same as always. He's perfect.
While checking Choi Seung-Hyun out, she hadn't noticed that he had been doing the same thing to her. He took in the white dress that clung to her upper body and flared out from her waist, stopping exactly mid thigh. Through the tank top sleeve of the veiled dress, he could see the light scar that Jang Mi received from her mom. Jang Mi was ashamed of them. She always kept it hidden but Choi Seung-Hyun loved her scars. Not because of what happened that had an outcome of the scar, but because those scars didn't stop Jang Mi from being Jang Mi. It couldn't take Jang Mi and she overcame it. Her scars were now a part of her and he didn't hate it. It made him love her more. Every so often, he'd lay a kiss on her scars, saying he's healing them spiritually through love. And he never hesitated to tell her that he loved her, fearing anything could happen to him, and, over his dead body, her.
