Chapter 23

I open my eyes, regrettably, to have bright sunlight shine directly into them.
I slowly get up and go straight to the bathroom to have a shower. When I come back into the room I notice Alex's bed is empty, well except for Tails, and I start to get a bit worried.
I rush out the door, not even bothering to grab my bag, and go to the common room.
As I pass through I notice a familiar red head lounging on the couch. I look over and see Alex asleep, wrapped in his arms and him watching her intently.
"Hi Fred!" I chirp.
"Hi." He says quietly, not even looking up from Alex.
"You know, she doesn't usually sleep in this late." I comment as I look at her almost angelic sleeping face.
"This late?!" He asks, he's obviously not a morning person.
"Yep, I'm not a morning person, but she is." I answer.
After talking to Fred for a bit I notice the time.
It's almost 6:45.
I poke her in the face, hoping to wake her up, but obviously it doesn't work, she's a deep sleeper.
"You know Fred." I start, a mischievous grin spreading on to my lips. "In the muggle world, there's this story called Sleeping Beauty, about a princess who was cursed to sleep for eternity, and only true loves kiss would awake her."
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" He asks, his smile growing.
"Yep!" I chirp.
He leans over her and kisses her on the forehead, and I'm actually surprised, why not the lips, and then I realize, putting the pieces together.
Fred Weasley, the Hogwarst skirt chaser, actually likes her!
"You actually, truly, like her, don't you?" I ask quietly.
"Well, maybe..." He mumbles.
"Then I'll help!" I chirp. "I'm already helping a lost little Slitherin, why not you too!"
"What Slitherin?" He asks.
"Can't say, sorry." I say as I walk around the couch. "I'll wake her up."
"Okay." He says laying back down next to her.
"Alright Alex, time to get up!" I shout in a cheerful voice I didn't know I could produce, and notice her snuggle into Fred more before opening her eyes.
"But I'm warm and comfy!" She argues.
"Well Fred's been threatening to kiss you if you didn't wake up soon." I tell her.
"Woah, wait, what?" She says, trying to get up, but Fred has her locked in his hold as he lays there, eyes closed, pretending to be asleep.
"Fred, let me go!" She protested.
"Fred, I know you aren't asleep." I say, trying to remove his arms.
"Five more minutes?" He asks innocently, nestling his face in Alex's neck.
"No, we have to get ready." I say sternly.
"Aww, that's no fun." He whined, a disappointed look on his face. "I was enjoying cuddling her while she slept."
He lets go of Alex and she quickly jumps to her feet and begins to walk towards the dorms her entire face glowing bright red.
"We'll see you at Hogsmeade." She mumbles racing up the stairs with me at her heels.
Once were inside the room I begin to interrogate her.
"Alright, why were you sleeping on the couch with Fred?" I ask as she walks into the bathroom.
"Well I was gonna go up to bed last night and then he wanted to talk for a while so then I rested my head in his shoulder and I guess I fell asleep. I don't know how we got to lying down though." She answers.
"Dude you guys are so cute together!" I exclaim.
"Well I'm hungry so let's go down for breakfast." She says coming out.

Down in the great hall we bumped into Triss.
"Hey guys what's up?" Triss says with a warm smile.
"Alex fell asleep on the couch with Fred Weasley!" I squeal.
"Dude shut your mouth." Alex says reaching a hand over and covering my mouth.
"You did what?!" He says with a shocked expression.
"Me and him were talking on the couch when I fell asleep and I guess so did he." She tries to explain.
"We're you lying down?" He presses.
"Yes. Don't know how we got there though."
"That is so unbelievably cute!!" He shrieks in a giddy voice and begins a little happy dance.
"It's not that cute." She says not understanding the big deal. "And now if you don't mind I'm going to enjoy a quiet breakfast."
"Oh alright." He says and She finally releases my face.
