I follow Alex down the stairs towards the entrance hall and struggle to keep up, she being taller than me.
"The ball was fun last night." I say, hoping to start a conversation, the silence finally getting to me.
"Yeah, but I noticed you and George disappeared half way through." She says, raising an eyebrow at me. "Where did you two go?"
"We went to the ROR and sat by the fire until I was going to meet you." I say sheepishly.
"And you're hiding some details." She says in an accusatory tone.
She knows me too well.
"Do I have to tell you everything." I say, turning away from her.
"If you don't I'll go find George and he can tell me everything you won't." She says devilishly.
She really knows me too well.
"Oh alright, fine, I'll tell you on the carriage." I say, raising my hands in defeat.
"Yay, I win. By the way." She leans in to whisper the rest. "What's happening with the next step?"
"I'll get you started on it when we get to your place." I whisper back.
"Alright, cool."
We were almost out of the castle when I felt my trunk become almost weightless and then being pulled away from me.
I turned my head around looking for the cause when my eyes landed on George and Fred standing by the stairs with their wands pointed at us.
I could see the sadness on George's face as I looked into his big brown eyes.
Oh George....
"Why must you make this so difficult." I whispered to myself.
I pulled at my trunk and was turning around to leave when I felt my trunk fly away from me, stronger from before.
I turned around and saw George holding my trunk and smiling sadly at me.
I ran over and was just going to take the trunk and leave but I couldn't help but feel like I was going to cry.
I collapsed into his arms, gripping to his shirt.
"I'm lousy at goodbyes." I whisper, trying to hold back tears.
"Then don't." He whispered back, pulling me closer.
We stayed there for a few moments until I calmed down.
I pulled away and looked up at him, not being able to say a word.
I looked up at him and was quickly taken by surprise when he leaned down and kissed me, and let me tell you it wasn't an innocent kiss. He snaked one arm around my waist and put his other hand on my neck to tip my head up, since I'm so short.
He nipped at my bottom lip lightly and I opened my mouth, a small whimper escaping my lips.
His tongue makes its way into my mouth as my hands make their way into his shaggy red hair, a slight moan escaping my lips, and just like that it's all over.
He pulls away and we're both panting.
"My, that was sure something." I say, touching my still tingling lips.
"What are you taking about." He says with a smirk. "It was bloody brilliant."
I grab his right arm and pull a black leather bracelet from my pocket, putting it on to his wrist. He looked at the bracelet for a moment before looking back at me.
"Happy Christmas." I say with a small smile, giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
He pulled me back to him before I could leave and kissed me on the forehead.
"I'll be here when you get back." He whispered in my ear, and then slowly let his hands fall from around my waist.
I turned away and walked over to Alex, not being able to stop smiling.
"Ready?"
"Yep, you?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." I said and we grabbed our trunks and left.
We both cast a quick glance back at the twins waving behind us.
---------------------------
We got in the train and being some of the only occupants, we got our own compartment.
"So the next step is sprouting ears." I tell her once the door was shut and the curtain was closed.
I sat down next to her.
"Why don't you give it a try."
She sits there for a moment and I can see her trying to concentrate but she comes up with nothing.
"How did you do it?" She asks, looking up at me.
"Well, I just imagined my hearing heightened and the feel of having two fox ears on the top of my head." I say and then feel the top of my head, hitting the newly sprouted fix ears. "See?"
"Alright." She says and closes her eyes and begins to concentrate again.
All of a sudden I see two different coloured dog ears on the top of her head.
I give a posh little golf clap and she looks up with a smile feeling the top of her head for the new ears.
"Cool huh?" I ask, mine twitching a bit.
She nods her head at me.
--------------------------------
After we got off the train and got to Alex's house, well mansion.
We walked up to her room and put our trunks at the end of her bed.
"How about I show you around?" Alex offers as she lets Tails out of his cage.
"Sure." I answer as I do the same for Tahlia.
I follow her out of her room into the hall, which is also technically a balcony, and down the long mahogany staircase.
"This is the foyer." She says, opening her arms as she steps onto the dark marble floor, he shows making a small clinking sound as she continues to walk towards a large archway.
"This is the kitchen." She says as we walk into a large open kitchen with a ton of windows around the room.
The dark marble counter tops and dark wooden cabinets covered half the room as well as high tech kitchen appliances.
"Right in here is the dinning room." She says leading the way through another arch into a dimly lit room with a large dark mahogany table and 8 high wooden chairs surrounding it.
She then leads me out of the dining room and down a dark hall and stops in front of a bright red door.
"And this is...."
