Chapter 42

I sat up and stretched not really being very comfortable hunched over a table reading an old transfiguration book.
I look at the time and yawn.
3:30am.
I look to my left and see Alex asleep at her desk, snoring lightly with a quill in her writing hand.
I pick up a blanket that was balled up on the couch and drape in over her, careful of her tattoo, and then tiptoe over to the fireplace grabbing another blanket on my way.
I wrap the blanket around my shoulders and sit in front of the fire as I think of sleep, my hell.
I start to feel sleepy as I sit watching the dancing flames and can't help but feel my eyes closing as I stifle another yawn.
I lay there with my eyes closed and think of something to keep the nightmares away.
I think of all my best memories and realize all of them are either with Alex or George, and I smile as I replay them through my mind. Teaching Alex to ice skate, sneaking out to go bowling, sneaking through Hogwarts late at night in search of adventure, finding secret passages, making fake ID's, my first Christmas at Hogwarts, my birthday, starting the animagus transformation, the Yule ball, and getting tattoos. Slowly as I think of the moments I begin to drift off into sleep, the last thing I think of being the words on my wrist and my idea for once we're back at Hogwarts.
